Having trouble with Install CD
I just got my A Flex today and the install CD will not work. Could someone provide me some assistance?

The Respironics Auto w Aflex does not come with any software or install cd. The only software available with card reader is Respironics Encore Reader 1.0. If the card reader came with software don't use it. The software should not be making any reference to Encore Pro Application. Now that we have established that none of your equipment could cause this error message, let's start over very carefully for those of us that read slowly!

Help.At 45 my husband stops breathing every 30 min. Hates the mask. Tried a nose "mask" and will not use it. He uses REMstar C-Flex. It has a built in humidifier. We are not that familiar with full capabilities since he pulls it off after two hours. His Doc prescribed sleep aids. Very scary since he "must" wear the machine when taking the aids. They do not work for him. He gets very little sleep as you may be familiar with. Dito for me. Desperate for information on alternatives and the most comfortable pieces or gear. In addition, is there anything that works for travel without electricity. Checking into the mouthguard. I don't understand the comfort level for these machines, nor do I understand why his machine isn't working for him. In additon, can't convince him that some discomfort is better than feeling no discomfort six feet under. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Please outline exactly what you have done.
What version encore pro or encore viewer?
What driver did you use for the card reader (hopefully not the one that came with it)?
Give these people a step by step of what you have done and exactly what errors (as WW said) and perhaps they can help you - otherwise they are flying blind.

OK,
I got this software to install. It is an install wizard for the smartcard reader that I got. I simply put in the cd and it refused to install indicating.:
Can not find Encore Pro Application
This Installation requires Encore 1.3 or greater.
This is for the Encore Pro, that's my reader card.
Any info will help.

As I said in a previous post "don't install the software for the reader!" Simply install the Encore Reader Disk, and it installs the drivers for the reader. Hopefully, it will overwrite these readers when you install the Encore Viewer 1.0 software. Then try to read your card. Sorry, but I don't allow Vista to be installed on any computer as it seems to be a downgrade to Windows XP.

you need the card reader drivers specifically for encore pro
if you can't find them on the respironics CD then get them here
http://www.two-factor.com/shop/index.php?productID=115 - look for the ones labeled encore pro DT3500-ISW-Encorepro_v1_3.exe
Did you answer what encore and version you have? I didn't see an answer.
You need Encore Pro 1.8 or Encore Viewer 1.0. Earlier versions of Encore Pro won't work with vista and with aflex machine.
There have been several threads a couple weeks about about card reader problems with vista - you should search for them

I think I get this. The OP does not have EncoreViewer 1.0, EncorePro 1.8 or other programs, but has a driver disk for the EncorePro card. If I got that right, you don't want to install that on your computer. To read data from your machine, you need one of the above programs and a smartcard reader installed first. You can then plug in an Infineer smartcard reader, and it should find the driver. The smartcard cannot be used by you, until you purchase software to view and analyze the data. Installation should be done in order: software (Encoreviewer or EncorePro first, Infineer card reader, second) There are package deals for the software and card reader combo that range from $149 to nearly $200 on the internet. I got mine from DirectHome Medical.
Sometimes, when you put a CD into the drive, the autorun feature doesn't work properly. You can always use file explorer to find the setup program.

Ditto. I agree with everything you said. He also needs to Uninstall whatever he has put on his computer and clean it up so that he can start over from scratch when he gets his Encore Viewer or Pro. Otherwise, he will just have more problems and complications.Sleeprider wrote:I think I get this.
