Worried

Post by Barks1 » Fri Jun 06, 2008 1:27 am

Well it had to happen I've down with a bad head COLD!
Crikey am I worried about tonight it be the 1st night since Oct last year without my beloved machine.
Helppppppppppp my nose is like a tap and I could do with a set of wind screen wipers under my nose!

I'm in trouble as I not allowed to take just about very cold stuff due to my taking blood pressure tables. Crikey Melbourne Australia is cold at the moment it's about 15c now it feels like it's going to be a long cold time ahead.

I'll interested to read what others have done to get over their colds and flu's.

I've had a couple of (admittedly not too bad) colds since I've been on CPAP, and was pleasantly surprised to find that the CPAP actually helped. I stuck it on and after a couple of minutes I could feel my nose clear. Hopefully it'll be the same for you.

Thanks ColinP I was thinking of having a go at it tonight.

(I'm dripping on the keyboard) I ever had it this bad before I wonder if the using the CRAP as done something to highten the cold?

I don't know. It's certainly a good idea to be extra careful about cleaning your mask and hose etc when you have an infection because you don't want it to come back again just as you're getting over it.

Sounds to me like you might have a sinus infection (the nonstop dripping is a clue) rather than a regular cold, so I'd ask your doctor about it, and/or try some sinus meds from the pharmacy/chemist.

I'm surprised at that statement.

Most of my colds - for most of my life have a day or two of constant dripping in their beginningy that has absolutely nothing to do with infected sinuses.

Drying the Aussie heated hose is simple - easier than drying a normal hose, since you can let it grow warm.
