Card Reader Error

Card Reader Error

Running Encore Pro v 1.8 on Vista. Had been using about a month with the new Vista (hate vista). Anyway, suddenly this morning got an error "Card Reader Not Found" when I tried to download my data. I've reinstalled Encore, checked the firewall, reinstalled the driver. I cannot think of anything else to do--hit the wall. Anybody have any advise? I am using the Infineer Card Reader on the USB on Com1. I'm not sure this works. Also, I cannot erase or set up the card either. Thanks for any insights--I'm lost--I've even tried every USB port with no luck. Did I say I hate Vista!!

Try unplugging it fron the USB and plug it back in to a differend USB Port, maybe that USB isn't any longer working! If you have one on the back of your pc, try that one...

I just got my card reader and AutoScan 5.7 software. When I first loaded the software then did the setup for the smartcard reader everything loaded just fine, success messages all along. But when I tried to download my data I got the same error message as you. I went into the control panel and in the Device Manager I had the smart card reader search for an updated driver. I made sure that I had created a patient file and then it all worked fine.
