First of all, A big THANK YOU! for all your help on my previous post, "Can they give me any CPAP machine they choose?". The advice given was very helpful in getting all my information together.
I walked into the clinic afraid that they'd give me a cheapo machine, and I'll admit, I had my guns loaded for a fight. When I walked into the exam room though, I was very pleasantly surprised! The machine sitting on the table was the exact same model I wanted - an M-series REMstar Pro. It was a very nice feeling to not have to "discuss" the machine choice.
They determined that my apnea can be controlled at this point with 8 inches of pressure, so a BiPAP doesn't seem called for. I can't begrudge them for not prescribing one at that low a pressure. The C-flex does a good enough job at pressure relief that I honestly can't complain.
Putting the harness on by myself for the first time was interesting, to say the least. When I saw in the mirror what I looked like with the head harness, nose pillow tube and chin strap on, I had to laugh. I looked like the star of some weird S&M porn movie. All I was missing was black mink handcuffs.
The first night was good, but my sliding around on the pillow trying to get comfortable pulled the mask harness off my head a couple of times. When I woke up, I felt somewhat better than before. Last night's sleep was GREAT, though! I had good dreams, and I can only remember the apparatus waking me up once. I'm definitely diggin' on this!
Anyway, thanks very much for your help. As time progresses, I hope I can add value to this forum, and give something back.
Thanks for your help! Second night with CPAP

You might want to look at the rigs in the topics linked below. Figuring out a way to hang the main air hose above your head (some masks are easier to do that with than others) can help greatly in preventing the air hose from tugging at headgear when you move your head or turn over:y_chromosome wrote:The first night was good, but my sliding around on the pillow trying to get comfortable pulled the mask harness off my head a couple of times.

Congratulations!
Glad to hear you didn't have to put up a fight to get a data-capable machine.
