opinions respironics

Post by zorty » Fri Apr 25, 2008 6:42 am

Hi I know this has been asked before.

I am getting a new apap, I had a plus machine (cpap) with no card.

I asked my doctor for a new machine and I told them that I wanted the m series pro so I can buy a card reader. I also asked if I could get an apap as I lost 40 lbs and then gained about 10.

I was approved for the apap with my insurance and the dme is coming out with the apap today.

When I asked them the machine they were bringing out I was told respironics apap. I should have asked them the model as I was hoping to get the M series.

I think I read that the M series provides more data? Is one quieter then the other (m vs pro)? I am one that would pay the entire cost myself if it would be beneficial.

Thanks

I hope you get an M Series Auto with A-Flex. I have had mine for 2+ months and just love it. It has everything! You have 2 kinds of exhilation relief (C-Flex and A-Flex) and, of course the ability to use it in auto mode with a pressure range as well as on straight cpap. I don't know if it's quieter than the Pro and the Pro will give you data and, probably C-Flex exhalation relief but not A-Flex and you don't have the option of setting a range with the Pro as you do with the auto. If they said a Respironics auto, you are probably getting the M Series, since that's all they make anymore and it may well be the one with A-Flex. Good luck.

If he's coming today you will be getting an M - it's all the dme's sell anymore.

The Q? is which model M - several different flavors & couple don't have data or compliance ONLY data.

Make sure yours has data or throw him/her outta the house, real far. Actually don't let them in unless is has data. Cuz once in they will lie, lie & lie some more.

Maybe call them BEFORE they come. Ask for a card too.

Good Luck,

thanks for the replies,

so they typically don't come with a card?

I am confused as to which model offers data for the M series. Can someone tell me what models in the m series offer data?

I just don't trust the dme.

When I asked them the machine they were bringing out I was told respironics apap
(my emphasis)

All Respironics APAPs give you full data - nothing to worry about here.
