Need New DME

Post by EarlyStarts » Wed Apr 23, 2008 6:06 pm

I have BCBS insurance and would like to find a good online DME for supplies and such. Suggestions?

I had just signed up with billmyinsurance.com but they will no longer support me as I live in The People's Republic of California.

Help!

Call the number on your BC/BS insurance card and ask what local DME CPAP suppliers they are contracted with. Those are the only ones that will be in-network for you. While you are at it ask what your out-of-network benefits are and if YOU are considered in-network and eligible for reimbursement if you submit a paid invoice w/HCPCS codes from a reputable DME supplier.

Try calling American HomePatinet Inc at 877-221-8763 press #6 for new patients. They take BC/BS plans and will ship from their national call center warehouse direct to you.

I have used this California on-line supplier and gotten good service:

http://www.cpap-company.com/

You might call them and ask about BC/BS coverage.

It is amazing that billmyinsurance.com did NOT really state the reason they stopped providing coverage, I have never used them but at some point I may have.

I haven't attempted to order from cpap.com which is affiliated with them in some way, don't know if they are allowed to do business in California or not. My understanding is it is not just California but other states as well.

I haven't been able to find more information on it. I prefer shopping where I obtain the lowest price, for past 8 years that has been cpap.com, but I wonder if they still sell into California, is it just them or all out of state vendors?

I have also used cpap-supply out of Spokane, they have given me pretty good service and competitive prices, but I don't know if they are under the same restrictions as them.

anyone in California make a purchase here recently? Is cpap.com still shipping to California? If not, I'd sure like to know the reason why, I've yet to see any explanation as to the reason why.
