FlexiFit HC431 Full Face Mask Questions

Post by rozenbob » Sun Apr 20, 2008 7:46 pm

I am Considering buying a FlexiFit HC431 or HC432 Full Face Mask .
The 431 has all three sizes while the 432 comes in one size.
Are the sizes true between the two models?
(Is Medium 431 same as Medium in a 432?)
I am presently using a Large Quattro, what size would be comparable in the 432?
Any opinions Appreciated.
Thanks Bob

No & No
The 431 does come with 3 sizes which makes it easier to find what will fit you.

Think of it this way- the Med 432 is a Small 431 because with the foam filling the inside it is smaller inside the mask. The seal is the same size & one fits the other. The mask is different bc the 432 has a place to hold the foam piece. So if you take the foam out of the 432 you have a 431.

They recently came out with an Ex. Large 432 bc of the foam filler. The down side is with the 432 you only get one size.

432 size

Think I might be swinging towards the 432 because of the seal.
Since I am using a size Large in the Quattro, What size would that be in the 432??
Bob

For comfort get the 432

rosenbob:

I have a 431 and I am very happy with it. I also have a F&P Nose mask with the soft foam cushion which fits under the regular cushion. The soft foam cushion offers additional mask comfort and seems to seal better. I looked at the F&P site. Here is the link http://shop.talkaboutsleep.com/?action= ... page=30180 They advise ordering one size larger than that of the 431 for example if you wear a med order a large 432.

If I had been more savvy at the time I would have ordered the 432. I will next time!
That said, I love my 431.

Here is the link to the sizing tool. Plug in your measurements and it will tell you the correct size https://www.cpap.com/cpap-mask-sizing.php?PNum=2353

Good Luck! Oh, if you are not sure get the insurance so you can send it back.

I have no idea.

The Quattro seals above the chin. The 431/2 both fit below the chin but on me is where I also get leaks. It is very comfy for Gumby but leaks below the chin and between the eyes. For me the foam in the 432 didn't fix the leaks and made it more uncomfortable. In fact, I felt like I had to pucker ALL nite to fit in the 432.

The insurance would be a real good idea - unless you are sure it will fit your face. Maybe I'll sell mine? ha

Tried the Cpap Size chart

Post by rozenbob » Sun Apr 20, 2008 8:37 pm

I entered my proper measurements and It said the 432 was NOT Ideal!
I tried different numbers and it still says Not Ideal!
Are they trying NOT to sell the 432??
Bob

I think that the 432 is to small for your facial measurements.

I looked back at mine and they said a small Quattro but a Med 431. Since you now wear a large it is possible because of the under chin design of the 431 and 432 they will not fit your facial measurements.

However, I would call customer service to be sure.

My Quattro

Post by rozenbob » Mon Apr 21, 2008 4:20 am

My Quattro fits Me On the Very Bottom of My Chin!!

Maybe it is too large by the "chart" standards?

BUT it (the Quattro) works Fine!?!

Also, remember with the 431, you buy only one mask for all three sizes. All three sizes come as interchangeable inserts in the one package, like getting three masks for price of one. That way I was able to try out each size on an off and compare till I decided which size I liked best (I ended up on medium insert). I wish all masks did it this way.
Machine: Respironics Auto/A-Flex -
SW: EncoreViewer
Humidifier: Respironics M-series heated
Mask: F&P FlexiFit HC431
