Need Canadian CPAP online stores links?

Post by WorrypasCanada » Sun Apr 20, 2008 7:38 am

Hello,

I need to order CPAP maintenance and disinfectant kits from Canadian online stores. I have found a few, can you email me your links? Need some more.

Thanks for your support.

Most of the Canadians that hang out here, have purchased products from https://www.cpap.com who is also the provider of this forum and from what I've read, they seem to be happy with the service.

Den
(5) REMstar Autos w/C-Flex & (6) REMstar Pro 2 CPAPs w/C-Flex - Pressure Setting = 14 cm.
"Passover" Humidification - ResMed Ultra Mirage FF - Encore Pro w/Card Reader & MyEncore software - Chiroflow pillow

Den is right. I am Canadian and I am going to purchase from cpap.com. They have many Canadian clients. I am going to buy software and card reader from cpap.com even though I am in Canada...prices and good customer service. I have done some research and they are widely used in both countries. Hey the Canadian dollar is near par, so look to the best service provider and those that have good shipping and available stock.

Here a couple Canadian online CPAP sites, I can not vouch for them, but they appear legit.

Canadian cpap online stores

Post by Hawthorne » Sun Apr 20, 2008 11:19 am

I have ordered from cpapland.ca and they are very good. Unfortunately their prices are high. They are not as high as from a brick and morter provider in Canada but still high.

I have found the best prices, service and very reasonable shipping from cpap.com. I have placed probably 6-8 orders with them this year and no problem. They ship it so that no custom or duty is required. It costs about 1/3 of what it costs from a Canadian online store or a Canadian provider. It comes right to your mailbox within 10 days usually. They will accept a prescription online (via fax or uploading -check their site) for items which require a prescription, like a machine but prices are great! Getting reimbursment from the provincial government for a machine bought through them is highly unlikely but unless you have a really good extended health plan as well, you still save with cpap.com by buying on your own.

Hawthorne, I wonder about third party insurance from employer insurance programs like Sun Life and others, wonder if they would cover.

This week, I will call and see if they would. Shouldn't be any difference. cpap.com requires a prescription for masks and cpap units...but maybe not because it originates from US. It shouldn't matter but then again I guess each country has concerns about their markets.

Talk about Free Trade! Anyways just ordered my card reader and software from cpap.com and it was easy. I eagerly await my delivery. :D

Canadian cpap online

Post by Hawthorne » Sun Apr 20, 2008 12:27 pm

Fredman - I would be interested to know what you discover about Sun Life. I am assuming you are with them. I used to have Sun Life through my husband's job and they were just excellent. As you probably know - pay 100% of just about everything! When my husband retired we both got a "lifetime" limit. I used mine up very quickly since I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and have been on several very expensive drugs for some time now. My husband is still with Sun Life but I took out a private individual plan with Green Shield. I no longer need to worry about the drugs since I am a senior now and also in a drug trial!
Green Shield has not been very forthcoming about reimbursing if I buy cpap equipment online from the US. They did, however, cover from cpaland.ca. I asked them about online US orders and got a very unclear answer from the person with whom I spoke. I did not attempt again - YET! I'm saving so much buying from cpap.com and Green Shield does not cover as much, at least on my plan, that I've have just paid myself.
Canadian online or otherwise also require a prescription for machines. Green Shield required a prescription for my machine when I got reimbursement for a mask bought at cpapland.ca.

Purchased my APAP through CPAP.com and Sunlife covered it without issue. They suggested I send in a copy of the quote for prior authorization but I was going to buy it anyway so I went ahead and ordered without their authorization, sent in the paper work after the fact and on Friday of last week the inurance payment was in the bank. Have found nothing north of the border to compare to cpap.com for price or SERVICE,save yourself the hassle and order from our sponsor.

I'm curious why you say you 'have' to order from Canada. I've been ordering from Cpap.com for years (I'm in N.S.) and my insce. refunds the cost - it doesn't have to be a Can. company (who are twice as expensive).

Ah very welcomed news indeed!

That's great. I will be buying a new machine 2 years in October. Of course along the way a couple of masks too.

Like I said I ordered a card reader and software from cpap.com as I have heard nothing but good about them.

YES!
