Guide to interpreting Encore Pro/Myencore

Post by Doovid » Fri Apr 18, 2008 11:34 am

I've spent quite a bit of time perusing the forum looking for something that would be a definitive guide to interpreting the results of daily/accumulative treatment data. I've gathered bits and pieces that are somewhat useful. It mostly involves analyzing/comparing other users' cries for help in interpreting their individual problems and data.

Is there one or several manuals or papers that describe the meaning of the various Encore report tables and graphs? I'm confused when responses for help result in one individual saying that the user should increase the base level of pressure and lower the high end, or when, in a similar situation recommendations are just the opposite. What is considered good/bad readings? Also what is the best approach to resolve/improve issues? I know that probably every situation is unique considering all the available data, so I don't expect a "recipe" of fixes, but there must be key things to look for....

Please help a confused user who has used CPAP for about a year, with limited success. I'm not under the attention of a specialist so I'm self treating...perhaps not the best idea considering that my end results are not the best.
Thanks for the help; this forum is a great place!

Your profile shows a generic model. You are showing a Nasal interface, that can allow mouthbreathing, and that can cause loss of treatment.

Low leaking is the key to treatment. With high leaks the data is unreliable. In Encore Pro, I check the Dailies. (page 4 plus one for each day used), the other pages don't concern my. My goal is to keeps the leaks as low as possiable. Keep my AHI under 2, prefer 1. If using APAP, keep the range with a 3 or 4 cm spread. Then find the best range for the best results. Jim

Use data to optimize your xPAP treatment!

Doovid,

Which machine do you have? Your profile is showing the old image for the REMstar Pro 2. (like the one I have in my profile)

Also, do you have a version of Encore Pro or Encore Viewer?

This is a link to the MyEncore program writeup that Derek did back in 2005.

myencore.php

If you already HAVE a version of Encore Pro, there is a lot of information in the "Help" file.

Other than that, much as Jim said......the lower the numbers the better.

Den

(5) REMstar Autos w/C-Flex & (6) REMstar Pro 2 CPAPs w/C-Flex - Pressure Setting = 14 cm.
"Passover" Humidification - ResMed Ultra Mirage FF - Encore Pro w/Card Reader & MyEncore software - Chiroflow pillow

What version of Encore Pro are you using?? You'll probably need to upgrade with the Aflex. Also with versions of Encore Pro above 1.6 (or was it 1.5) MyEncore doesn't work and you'll need to get Encore Pro Analyzer... written by jskinner (forum member)
