How do you stop this mask from leaving red marks alongside your nose?
Am I adjusting it wrong? I know when I move the dial, the forehead piece moves, but if I move it away from my forehead I feel air leaking.
Also how do you change the cushion size, two came with mine.

I just got one of these a couple of weeks ago. I think I'm going to like it. As usual, it takes some adjustment and trial and error. My DME put in the large cushion, but it kept leaking, so I changed to the medium, and it is much better. I actually learned how to change the cushion when I accidentally pulled it out. The silicon just fits into a slot that goes around the plastic frame. It's much easier that changing the cushion on my Activa.

If you read this, please post a reply and let us know how you're doing with the Micro. I really like it because so far it hasn't broken. My Active frame has to be replace nearly once a month due to breakage.

Read the literature that comes w/the Resmed Mirage Micro. That tells you how to change the cushions. I take it you have the Large & Medium cushions. I'm waiting for an exchange for the Small. Unfortunately, the Small is in an entirely different frame and isn't interchangeable w/the Large/Medium frame.

Last night was my 3rd night using the Micro. I had to change from large to medium because of leaking at the bridge of the nose. I have used a standard size Activa for the last 3 years and I think I am going to like this mask better.

I, too thought I would like the Micro better than the Activa. However, I cannot get it to stop leaking. I've tried changing the dial to every possible combination.
It's weird, because I can use the Active and the Ultra Mirage nasal just fine. This one should've worked for me.
Dissapointed.

I can't get the micro to stop leaking, either. Plus the connection swivel squeaks. I had a huge red blister on my nose from wearing it half a night. The Activa leaks, too, but at least it isn't squeaky.

If you have red marks the mask is to tight. Loosen the straps. Turning the dial out tilts the mask on the lower half. Turning the dial in adjusts the area around the bridge of your nose. I just got one a few weeks ago and I think it's going to be one of my keepers. I forget who it was, but someone on this forum said to loosen the straps, turn your machine on and lay down. Slowly adjust the straps then adjust the dial. I hope this helps.

if you have blisters on your nose from the mask, try the larger cushion. Does the Micro touch the nose? Should it?

I think I'm getting used to it, but at first I got red spots around my nose with little white pimples. I moved everything around so its somewhat better. Adjusting the dial causes the leak to occur in different places. I though this would be my ideal mask, but I'm still searching.
Is the bottom of the mask supposed to hit just above your upper lip? Mine does and presses against my gums.
I'm getting a new respiratory therapist so maybe that will help with trying to fit a mask.

I'm on my 3rd night with the micro. I tried the Large first and spent the night fighting leakage, so the second night I tried the medium. I got a big zit where the mask was on the right side of my nose, and it leaked from the bottom corners. So for last night, I took some of the Mack's ear putty (Sliky - I think it's you I thank for that one) and used a small amount to "shore up" the corners an bottom lip line. I also re-adjusted all of the straps. Last night was much better. I'm not giving up just yet - but I'm not willing to call it a success yet - the DME gave it to me for a week. (We'll see how long it takes for the zit to go away )

Much more leaking than with the Activa. Leak rate with the Micro has been .32-.36 where the Activa was .14-.18. I did change the mask setting to standard on my S8. I feel as well as with Activa so maybe the leak rate is not a problem?

If you set the machine to standard for the Micro, then the leak rate you're getting it the total leak for this mask, meaning both vent leak (intentional) and the accidental leaks.

If you look at page 8 of the mask's manual, you'll find a graph describing the expected pressure to leak relationship - .32 to .36 looks fine for any pressure between 9 and 12 to me.

On the other hand, the leak reported for the Activa as Activa is the "netto" accidentat leak (intentional subtacted from total by the machine), so I guess you're leaking more from the Activa. Your Rxed pressure would have to be 4-6 to get that accidental leak in the Micro.

I'd say you're doing great.
