Question about Dreams.....

Now that I've been using my CPAP for 3 nights, last night I finally slept ALL night with no getting up for a bathroom break....and I had several vivid dreams....I guess that REM sleep is when you are having dreams and that is a good thing??....does that mean you are in the deepest "sleep mode" when you are having dreams/REM?.....Thanks

OH, I dreamed that I was told by a couple of co-workers that I was going to be "let-go"....very disturbing stuff until I realized I was asleep.....lol

Actually, you can have dreams in any sleep stage......not just REM. The fact that you remembered them may mean that you were awakened during that time or that you may have been in a lighter stage, like Stage 2.

If you were in VERY DEEP stage sleep, you probably wouldn't remember them. Without being all wired up, like in a sleep lab, you really don't know for sure what sleep stage you were in.

Don't despair......dreams can be "interesting"......and you may find that the nature of your dreams will change with the extra oxygen in your brain.

I like my dreams. For many years, while being undiagnosed w/OSA, I did not dream as I used when I was young ... thought that was just part of growing old. PAP treatment has given me my dreams back and my youthful feeling too. My libido and everything that goes with was restored much to the surprise of my wife. My activity level is almost the same as I had as a 20 year old and my desire to live has increased like never before. Dreams are good.
