My favorite cure for leaks is using Mack's silicone putty. Just roll it out into a rope and put it around the cushion, then smush it down on your face. Seals the leaks and lets you back off the straps enough to be comfortable. And I just love waking up in the morning, hitting the buttons on my machine and reading a "0.0" leak rate for the night!!!

I know that CVS pharmacies have them in the earplugs section. Most other drugstores probably also carry them.

I've reused the silicone "rings" (after rinsing them) a few times before replacing them. They're not expensive and work well with nasal pillows.

They're also a swimming accessory - so anywhere you find goggles, etc. should also be OK.

I assume by Mack's silicone putty you are referring to Mack's Silicone Ear Plugs?? You take one, roll it in your hands to form a rope or tape to place on the cushion in the area where it lays on the facial skin??

Here is a link to Mack's website that lists the retailers that carry the earplugs as well as pictures of the products.

Thanks for the Mack's web site. Which one of their products works the best for sealing masks? The white color or the orange color labeled "shooter's putty". Thanks!

I use the white ones. You can get them at Walgreens, Walmart, Riteaid, probably most pharmacies or variety store. And yes, they are called Macks Pillow Soft Earplugs, The Original Silicone Putty.

I used them last night on my comfort gel. It made the mask feel a whole lot better, but was hoping for a lower mask leak rate. I will keep on trying to get the leaks down using this putty though. My leak rate was 30, pressure at 10.5 and ahi of 3.9. I have hit lower ahi's in the past...

Where did you place the silicone on the ComfortGel? I've only used it on nasal pillows.

Greyhound,
Do you use a whole for each pillow?

I made a rope with the putty and placed in on the silicone flap. Tonight I am going to make sure that it is against the actual gel part on top of the silicone. I only had to use one and did rinse it off this morning to use again.

I use less than one half of a plug per pillow.
