CMS-50E Fingertip Pulse Oximeter

Post by max10 » Sun Mar 30, 2008 9:27 am

I am very pleased with the operation of the CMS-50E Oximeter now that I have installed the NEW version of the Software which is Vista ready. I agree with other posts that the instruction manual leaves something to be desired, but the instrument is easy to understand and use after you play with it for a short time.

After downloading the data into the program, you have available 4 different presentations of the data which can be printed.

For the price from http://www.echostore.com I feel it is a bargain.

I don't think I'd trust an offer like that, especially when it comes from a person with a Hotmail address, rather than either a link to a corporate site or their corporate email address. Just me, I guess.

I had purchased a PO from echostore which I am in the process of exchanging.

After contacting echostore and "james" from contec, I was contacted by keeme with a question about the PO operation. In writing back I referred to a thread on this forum about the CMS-50E.

He or she seemed legitimate to me. Their email address is the one I received the question from. The email address I was contacted at is not one I have given anyone here at the forum but is the one I use for my cpap.com and other website orders.

I fully understand the reservation of getting programs via email with the possibility they will corrupt the computer. I would hope that the files will be available at some company's website in the future whether it be a vendor's or the manufacturer's.

software upgrade

Post by Arizona-Willie » Sun Mar 30, 2008 2:26 pm

If you have a decent virus program it < should > check the file when it is sent to you as an attachment.

You can always save the attachment and then check it with a virus program before installing.

I'm wondering if there is any advantage for people running the ver 0.92 software on XP.

Are there any new reports/ graphs /etc?

I will possibly install Vista on here soon when the SP1 is available for upgrading XP. Will probably wait though a bit to see if the SP1 introduces any new problems.

CME-50 Oximeter

Post by max10 » Mon Mar 31, 2008 7:48 am

I was never able to install a working version of the software for the CMS-50E Oximeter which came on disk from Echostore or from the download from their web page so I do not know what data presentation were available in the previous version of the software.

I have the Vista ready version installed on both XP and Vistra. This version has four data presentation available. These include: Summary Report, Full Study Report, Oximetetry Report, and Strip Chart Report.

Again, I am satisified with the CMS-50E Oximeter and believe that it was worth the money.

Reports

Post by Arizona-Willie » Mon Mar 31, 2008 10:09 am

I have the same reports on my version 0.92 so apparently there is no additional info or graphs / etc. to be gained by upgrading.

If I decided to go to Vista, though, I will need to get the new software I suppose.

If your not confident with Echostore, there's always Southeastern Medical Supply where some of us have purchased CME-50 package.
