Chintraps
I like your mis-spelling of chintrap, it's truthful name than chinstrap.
Most people find a chinstrap a waste of time and money, except for the people that sell them. A lot of the time they pull the jaw back causing pain and poorer treatment. Jim

I really like the Tiara Topaz, but the neoprene doesn't breathe, and irritates my skin.
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/topaz- ... strap.html
I just tonight made myself a chinstrap that looks kinda like this one:
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/deluxe ... hleak.html
But without the front and back straps. I made it out of some cool cotton tie dye material I bartered from forum member Goose. (Hint, he's got more if you're into tie dye)
I'll report tomorrow how well it works. I plan to pull my NAII headgear over it to stabilize the NAII hoses.
So far, no matter how I rig it, I can't make the Sullivan Chinstrap work for me:
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/cpap.c ... Style.html
And the BreatheWear Brand Halo was not any better:
http://www.breathewear.com/products/halochinstrap.html
BreatheWear claims it's NOT neoprene - coulda fooled me. Whatever it is, it's just as hot and irritating to my skin as neoprene. And that cut out in the chin is just more cut edge to irritate my skin. The "Halo" does NOT stay on my head any better than the skinny Sullivan's strap.
I think Rested Gal said this one was working for her:
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/premiu ... hleak.html
It's next on my list, if my new tie dye DIY chinstrap doesn't do the trick.
Good luck!

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula.
Thank you Babs
I just ordered the premium "chintrap" from respironics. It seems stronger than the rest. I have used the Tiara one and found the material irritating as well. Also did not seem to hold my mandible in place.
Years ago I had the fat from my double chin taken out and was required to wear your newest chinstrap. I still have it, should try it tonight.

Hey, if one of them doesn't work for you, PM me at "Babette". Maybe we can do a deal.
My new DIY chinstrap, of course, only worked one night. Last night it really wasn't all there for me. I thought about maybe taking some tucks in it to shape it into a cup at the chin.
Hey... I wonder if my Mom has one of those white chinstraps from "the little work she had done" last year? Must inquire...
I'd love a chin-tuck. I watch that Lifestyle Lift infomercial on Sunday mornings and dream.
GOOD LUCK and keep me posted!

damncows........could you please find a pic of the headgear you're talking about? Are you saying that its sort of a chinstrap and headgear all rolled into one, to use with nasal pillows? Sounds interesting.
I made my own chinstrap. Maybe someday I'll get brave and post a pic of it, but that's not likely.
I just took a wide section of soft tights and cut it to fit around my head and chin, and pinned it. then I took a piece of elastic and pinned it to the tights, so it would go around the back of my head. It really fits perfectly. The only problem I have occasionally is that I wake up with the tights in my mouth, instead of on my chin!
I've discovered that what I need most is pressure right under my lower lip. For some reason, that keeps my mouth shut.......or at least reminds me subconsciously to keep my jaw closed.

No, no, no, no, NO...not that one. I didn't say that one...or if I did, I said it wrong.Babette wrote: I think Rested Gal said this one was working for her:

I use THIS one -- the Respironics Original Deluxe:
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/respir ... strap.html
But I really think with a bit of thought, trial and error, and creativity, a person could make one just like it. It's 3 inches wide... maintains its width (doesn't roll in on itself) when worn. Elastic with just a leeetle bit of stretch. Doesn't have much "give" to it.

I use that one too. I have found it very effective and reasonably comfortable.rested gal wrote:I use THIS one -- the Respironics Original Deluxe:

Coutry4ever,
I tried the one Rested Gal doesn't use and couldn't get it to stay in place, I finally gave up on it.
I bought a RipVW100 http://www.ripvw100.com/ It's working pretty well, but I could see how it wouldn't work for all headgear.

Well, I bought the one RG DOESN'T use, and it came yesterday, and I was so unimpressed with it, I couldn't make myself wear it last night. Maybe I'll try again tonight.
I'm back to the Topaz for now. Maybe I'll get the one RG DOES use.
BTW, woke up last night in a puddle of drool. First time that's happened since starting therapy. I used to be a huge drool monster pre-therapy. I tightened the chin strap and went back to sleep. Seemed dry this AM.
Cheers,
Babs
PS - Anyone want to try this one?
