Opus 360/ResMed S8 Question

I just picked up an Opus 360 nasal pillows mask to use along side and perhaps eventually replace my beloved Activa. Used it for the first time last night and was by and large very pleased. That said, the numbers (leak rate, AHI, AI, HI) were quite a bit higher than I have had with my Activa.

My question is how much could the mask setting on my ResMed S8 effect the numbers (leak rate, AHI, etc.) displayed from the machine's LED? I changed the mask setting on my machine from Activa to Swift since it was the only nasal pillows mask in the menu.

I checked the inserts I got with the Opus and couldn't find anywhere that they defiined acceptable leak rates. The mask seemed to fit my particular head/face well right out of the box. I wasn't aware of any noticeable leakage.

Any thoughts?

As an aside, I tried on the the earlier Opus when I first started CPAP and didn't care for it. The new one (Opus 360) felt quite a bit better - particularly the hose management.

expelled CO2 through a group of fine holes in the front of the Elbow.
It is important that these holes are not blocked by any object. This controlled leak

I would set the mask definition to "Standard".
