too much gas

Post by iamcarol » Wed Feb 20, 2008 2:40 pm

Hi, i know this sounds kind of stupid but I had the worst night last night because of gas. Could not get to sleep and felt like i could open my own gas station. Was getting really bloated , how do i prevent this? What causes it? Is it because of the pressure that im on?

Almost afraid to go to bed tonight, what do you all suggest. You guys seem to have a lot of the answers. Thanks for everything

Do a forum Search on the word "aerophagia". The subject comes up VERY frequently. The solution is very individualistic.....no hard and fast answers.

The two reasons I usually come across are
- pressure is at a level where it is able to breech the airway & muscle holding your stomach closed. Which may itself be because you are a GERD sufferer.

- The pressure relief (are you using EPR) may be contributing just a bit. Pressure relief is great but it does (both C-Flex and even EPR) often contribute to people swallowing air as it changes pressure upward. With C-Flex it is most typical when set to max (3) and seems to occur most at the end of the C-Flex (& EPR) relief phase.

Are you willing to try dropping your pressure by 0.6 - are you on an Auto ? - do you have access to nightly data ?

Cheers
