Rescan

Post by Moby » Tue Feb 19, 2008 3:57 am

I was given the card reader and the software for my birthday yay!

I got it working today.

A couple of queries.

The manual says not to remove the card from the reader while the light is flashing, but the light flashes all the time.

1) When I can I remove the card from the reader?

2) When can I disconnect the reader from the computer?

and regarding the graphs:

3) I can only access detailed graphs for the past 4 nights. Is there any way I can access detailed graphs for longer ago?

4) The apneas are shown as little red lollipops with a number above them (usually 10, 11, 12) What does the number stand for?

Thanks

Di

When ResScan software has finished downloading the data from it (even if the light is flashing)

Anytime you are not actually downloading data from the card to the PC.

No. The S8 only keeps detailed data internally for 5 days, after that it goes into summarised data.

If you have ResScan set to not overwrite data that has already been downloaded, you can store new nightly detailed data indefinitely on your PC, as long as you download from the card at least every 5 days.

Its the duration of the apnea in seconds.

By the way, you should load data from the S8 onto your card only in the moring before noon if you want the whole data transfer thing to work in a straightforward way. If you miss a morning, wait until the next morining to gather the data from your S8. Trying to read data from the S8 in the afternoon will only confuse things, so just don't do it!

You can do the transfer from the card to your PC at any time of day.

Cheers,

Bill

Its not actually a reply, more of a question on the same subject. Does anyone know why we are not allowed to buy resscan software here in the UK? I see it's for sale in the US and i presume it is available in Oz, so why not in the UK? I could buy it from the Us but the import duty (about $100) and £110 postage makes it a bit expensive.

It would be a Resmed policy about selling it in the UK.

You could buy it from Australia on th enet.

Just a correction - you can set Resscan to overwrite existing data downloaded and it will not wipe out detailed daya for other days. If you do download after noon, the last day will have no data - you can just right click that day and delete it. Or the next day when you download, it will get the data for that day. It is easier to D/L before noon but not a disaster if you don't.
