SPO-7500 Saga Continues (apologies!)

Post by mindy » Mon Feb 18, 2008 5:02 pm

I suspect there must be a little dark raincloud perched on top of my head! This has happened occasionally in the past when I've had all kinds of difficulties getting something and then it doesn't work right

So I ordered my SPO-7500 on 1/16. After various trials and tribulations, it was finally shipped last Friday and I do have to give Med1Online high marks for trying to satisfy us by giving us a really good deal on the price.

I watched DHL tracking and saw that it was delivered while I was at work (good experience with DHL). So when I got home, I unpacked it, put in battery and put it on. Wow! This is so easy!!!

Then I decided to install the software ...... drumroll..... and it is a bad CD (data cyclic redundancy check for you computer geeks; for everyone else, that means the data recording didn't complete correctly or the CD data got corrupted after recording).

So here I am - so close and yet so far. I can't blame this one on Med1Online. The box was sealed with a special QA sticker from SPO. So I called SPO Medical in California and they were very nice. They didn't know what a CRC was but I explained and let them know that I had tried it on multiple computers. So they are expediting a new CD.

One of these days (hopefully soon) I'll have it working and will then be able to monitor all night. And please hope for me that the little(?) rain cloud will leave me alone and go bother someone else for at least ahile

Thanks for putting up with my frustrations!

Mindy

OOOPs, mine was in th same batch and I have not had time to try to install the software yet. Like you I put in the battery and read enough instructions to find out that you put on the finger thingy and it turns itself on. Same thought, "this is neat". Will try software tonight.

Hi Jerry,

It's probably not a systemic problem .... it's just that little rain cloud over my head!

Glad to hear yours works fine. I think that little rain cloud is now producing thunder and lightning

That little rain cloud's name is "Murphy". I'm sure you've both heard of Murphy. He's a miserable fellow and misery loves company. He tends to move in w/his suitcase and to not leave until he sees someone he likes even more to move in with.

I once had Murphy as a temp for 3 months when we were rebuilding floors and moving the servers to a temporary place, and changing hardware, and preparing the college for the beginning of the school year.

And I had sleep apnea without knowing it....

Ouch, O!

That's definitely much worse than a bad CD .... sounds like Murphy must have moved in with his extended family

He managed to be very efficient on his own....

I hope your CD comes along soon with some extended sunshine.

Hey, Mindy. You could try getting out and introducing Murphy to several people you don't particularly like. As perverse as Murphy is I'm sure he'd find one of them more to his taste.

He Slinky,

Great idea ... but at the moment there's nobody I can think of that I hate *that* much

Maybe I'll think of someone....

I've been receiving deliveries (six so far) from Dell Computers over the past two months. DHL is the company Dell is using.

Yesterday I was tracking the SPO 7500 from Med1online. At the end of the day when it did not arrive, I checked the DHL Tracking Web Site and it told me to call Customer Service. They told me they were unable to find my address.

Murphy must be one of their drivers.

Murphy seems to be a very busy little beaver! I wish he'd take a break for awhile
