nights are fine, days are lousy

Post by madipy » Fri Feb 15, 2008 3:51 pm

I have posted previously regarding possible allergies, possible cold, sinus infection. I am totally frustrated to the point where I hate being awake.
I have had no difficulty with my treatment. I sleep very well and previous symptoms like waking up with a headache, being more tired when I wake up and snoring are almost non-existant.
However I now have problems that only started when I started CPAP. About 20 minutes after waking I am stuffed right up, sneezing, experience pressure and generally feel lousy...but not tired. This lasts all day. As soon as I put my mask on at bedtime it's like all these symptoms magically disappear. I'm tempted to wear the mask while awake.
I have sterilized my house, used saline rinse, tried different over the counter meds, consulted with the pharmasist. There are some meds I can't take because of reaction with other meds I take.
I would be thankful for an hours relief. Help!

Sounds like you need a real ENT to check you out.
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

Have you tried sleeping without the humidifier, or using it on the lowest level? Often it can make people stuffy (noses that is) because they just don't need it at all (like me, who lives near the ocean), or they've set it to high, or they've got a sinus problem, etc.

On the other hand have you tried upping the setting on the humidifier. When I first started, I had the same symptoms and my DME said this was a fairly common complaint and usually solved by upping the humidification. It did work for me but I then had to deal with "rainout" (which was solved by going to an Ausie heated hose). Everybody is different so you will need to try different options to find what works for you. BTW, I think I remember reading that the humidifier that you have is one of the weaker ones in terms of putting out humidified air. Might want to do a search on that.
