: hi its me again i have a bad head cold and i was wondering if you can add anything to the water in the cpap mach i got some menthal its clear liquid and would help me breath better but i dont want to do andything to hurt my mach the water dont go in the mach does it so why would it hurt just need to know so please help me thanks

I sympathize with you however it does state in the manual, NOT to add anything to the distilled water.

Don't put anything in there but distilled water.

I have some of SleepGuy's essential oils -- Clear and Calm are great for congestion. It does NOT go into the humidifier tank but on a pad you place near the intake.

I have had the flu and unfortunately my sense of smell is shot and I can't smell anything.

When I was at the health food store I picked up some Eucalyptus Essential oil. I have been putting it on a cotton ball (3-4 drops) and just put it in a shallow bowl under the intake of my machine. It works really well. Also have some Lavander and do the same thing. Nothing in the machine and I didn't have to wait to order something when I needed it NOW!
