Hello all:
Just thought I would pass this along. I had trouble with airleaks on my Resmed Activa airmask and the leak would go right into my eye which made for sore eyes the next day.
I played with the forehead button adjustment and got a good angle for the nasal mask.
The key to stopping leaks for me though was in applying mask. I started my old Respironics Solo and with the air going full brought the mask onto my nose from above my forehead and then allowed the nose bridge part to contact first, the air cushion developed as i pulled the mask down over the bridge and down onto my lower nose. I attached the back streps and slept well with no eye irritation the next day. Just thought I would pass this along.
Sure is nice to wake up refreshed eh?
I have been on this almost two months now and hate it when i am not on it.

Activa mask and airleaks
I really like the Resmed Mirage Activa. I think most people here do as well. It is a top seller at cpap.com for good reason.
There is one point I would like to make about nasal masks and headgear. It is extremely important to make sure the headgear is centered at the back of your head. If it isn't it will be difficult to obtain a lasting seal. You may need to use a mirror to find out where the headgear really sits on the back of your head.
Just a tip from the peanut gallery.

Thanks for the tips on fitting the Activa. Will give it a try as I too have air leaks around the top part of the mask.

Thanks titrator. I think there was a lot of hipe over the mask by ResMed but it is not any where as good as it was hiped up to be. I have found it to be the worst mask ever, for the following 2 reasons:
1. If one follows instructions and keeps the mask strapped on loosely, I found that the mask rose up and down on my face like a bellows. It expanded up wards on each exhale and in towards my face on an exhale. The mask seemed to be doing a constant dance, someone described that it felt like 'a love sick' octopus on the face.
My mask made me feel seasick.
2. I have oily skin, so if I managed to get over my feeling of seasickness, and started off with no leaks within 2 hours the sweat and grease from my skin caused major leaks all over the mask. Loosening/tightening/repositioning nothing worked.
Which meant every two hours waking up to dry the rim of the mask and my face and then go back to sleep. Not a problem that I have ever had with my other masks.
A HUGE waste of money!
