Here is a funny one on me, thought I would share it...

Post by jsmythe » Tue Jan 29, 2008 7:46 pm

First let me say that I live out in the country ,so to speak. I have 3 dogs-2 Rotties, ages 8 and 1 year, and a Sheltie age 2, all 3 are house-broke and are in the house most of the time. Especially at night. There is a cow pasture on 3 sides of my house and my Mom and Dad live behind me on the 4 side.

The first thing I do in the mornings when I get up is let the dogs out and the next is fix coffee and then wash my mask and hose. Well this morning just after I washed my equipment, I let the Rotties back in. In about 5 minutes I saw my one year old Baby licking my mask all over and re-washing it for me!

(Needless to say, I washed it again) I was talking to her and she was licking me all over like puppies do, and I let her...well a short time later I went to visit my Mom. She started telling me about seeing Baby out in the pasture field early this morning eating ....cow patties!!!.... both dogs...!!!! (actually it was the baby calf manure, but who cares!) OHH,,, then I remembered how she was licking me on my face and my face mask!!!!...and licking my arms and such... ooohhhhh,,,,

Funny thing is, I never put my mask anywhere except in the bathroom to dry! Why did I ever put it in my bedroom...I bet I keep my mask in the bathroom after washing and think twice before I let them lick me on my face again....

Yes, I noticed the bad breath a couple of times, but never thought of why..
I have seen them out in the field several times and just thought they were "doing their business", NOT eating somthing elses!!

We have a three-year old Doberman who is very licky. We have worked with him a lot to get him to not lick us. One thing we often say to him is, "Don't you lick me. I know where that tongue has been." Course what I am thinking when I say that is how he, like all dogs, licks his privates. Thank goodness he does not have access to cow patties.

We always say one of our dogs can't control his "licker". He is a very mouthy pup. I definitely don't like having him lick on me after watching what else he does, especially out in the yard.

Both our dogs are Australian Shepherds, and they are sweet natured animals. Smart too.
