wow, this will take some getting used to but i did clock about ?4 hours on the machine.
i keep waking up with it though. like in 4 hours, i probably woke up like 5 times. i guess that is better than the 81 slight wake ups per hour without it!
so, i am wondering how or IF i can find out how many apneas i had. i do not think i can though cause i am using an auto machine and i do not see any place to find out this info. ?
it does have a chip to give the doctor though in 2 weeks, so i guess that will be interesting to see.
Had to use one of my daughter's headbands over my head to keep my big mouth shut! otherwise i wake up as soon as i fall asleep with my mouth opening and a flood of air coming out of it.

If your machine has a "chip" or a smartcard for the Dr. to read and interpret then the machine is collecting data and will be able to give you information about your sleep.
If you could, list out the exact model you are using and I am certain from being around here for a few weeks that one of the "seasoned vets" will be able to give you some wonderful advice regarding how to look at your data.
Welcome aboard!

Hi
Think you better use a full mask.

IMHO, it doesn't require a full face mask to fix mouth leaks. There are lots of tips (see mask fitting) in this forum. Some of us use chin straps (I use the Tiara Topaz) and others find they don't help at all. And some of us use mouth taping (again there are *lots* of posts on the forum).
I have both types of masks and still prefer the nasal (strictly *my* preference).
If you're having trouble searching the forum, try using Google with search terms similar to the following:

I have the Elite S8, and access the Advanced Patient menu by holding down the right and left buttons for a few seconds. The words, "efficiency Data" come up, then hit the left button under the "enter" on the LCD screen. Scroll down to read your pressure, leak rate, AHI, AI and HI. AHI= total apneas (AI'S) and Hypoapnea (HI's), which are stoppages and slowdowns in your breathing. I don't know if the Vantage works exactly the same. If this doesn't work, try searching the site. Or just wait, and someone smarter and with more experiance will come along pretty soon. Sleep Well!
