Bi-Flex Settings on Auto M Bi-Pap

Post by BrianT » Sun Jan 20, 2008 10:40 pm

Hello All,
I have a Respironics Auto Bi-PAP w/ Bi-Flex. I have been using it for a little over three months and really don't understand which of the three possible B-Flex settings are optimal, or how to figure that out.
Can anyone explain?
Thanks in advance,
Brian

Optimal bi-flex setting would simply be what feels comfortable to you. Try all three of them out while laying down, relaxed in the daytime. While you're wide awake and can notice how a few minutes of breathing with each bi-flex setting feels.

Also, try bi-flex off. If you turn it off, a different kind of setting will appear later in the menu, called "Rise Comfort." Try those settings too. That one governs how long it takes for the machine to move up to full inhale pressure when you start to inhale.

You can use one or the other (bi-flex or rise comfort) but can't use both at the same time. You can also turn both off.

I personally prefer bi-flex, and I like it set for "as much" bi-flex as possible...setting of 3.

Each person is different, though, as to what feels comfortable to them. So try them out.

I have tried all of the bi-flex settings, I prefer 2.
