Hello Everyone,
I had a fairly good night last night. I wore my opus with a chin strap that i just got from my dme. This is the first night i didn't have mouth leaks.
The problem is that my face hurt so bad when i woke up and had horrible headache even though i slept fairly well. My face and head are just so sensitive to straps. Maybe the chinstrap is to small.
So i am thinking about purchasing the quattro which i have to pay for out of pocket cause my ins doesn't allow for another mask at this time(they payed half on 2 in 2 months) and they only pay half on mask anyway.
For those ofyou who use the quattro, doyou wake up with red indents on your face? Are they painful? What can i do to avoid this problem?
Any suggestions? Thanks so much! Sososleepy

If a full face mask (or most any other mask for that matter) "hurts" or makes marks on your face, it's either too tight or the wrong size......or both.
This therapy should not be an exercise in determining how much PAIN you can endure.
Everyone's facial shapes and features are different, but there's a mask out there for almost everybody.
My experience with the Quattro is that if "properly sized" it can be worn fairly loose.

The bridge of my nose is for some reason sensitive to full face masks. I've actually slept in four and tried a few more on and I can't get a seal without leaving a red mark. The first one I tried, the F&P 431, went WAY beyond red and made me feel like I had been punched by a heavyweight after one night. The only one that fit well and didn't actually hurt is the Quattro. It left me a bit sore the first couple of nights but that stopped. The redness hasn't. That being said, I do love the Quattro. Comfortable, minimal leakage, quiet, amuses the children, etc.
As for indentations or other marks, I haven't had any problems in that regard. I do use Pad-A-Cheeks on the lower straps and a Pad-A-Cheek forehead cover with a nose bridge piece attached.

I use the Mirage Ultra FF and although i get the red marks and indentations on my face, they didnt hurt and went away quick enough( before I got to work ) I did get an incredible headache and neck pain from the straps and the padacheek has solved 90% of it. Either pm padacheek on this site or visit http://www.padacheek.com
