I need some info about the comfort full 2 mask

Post by odawa » Thu Jan 03, 2008 8:32 am

Hello all,
my stepdad, has sleep apnea and he uses the comfort full 2 mask, well he prob would if he could get it to seal correctly. He has a problem with air coming out of the spots by the bridge of the nose, so that it blows in his eyes. It also makes an awful noise, like farting. lol I didnt laugh then.
He has recently been diagnosed with emphysema. I'm trying to help him out.
I can never seem to find anything helpful with the searches. Hopefulls someone has an easy fix. His air pressure is 15

Wow I am in shock. I just talked to his DME and the comfort full 2 is the ONLY full face mask that they use. I guess they only supply Respironics. He goes to the VA hosp. so maybe I'll see if I can get him a mask. any suggestions on a good full face mask, he has facial hair.

Odawa, I received a CF2 from my DME as a free trial. Could never get it to seal at 14 cm. I would start out loose, then gradually tighten, until it actually hurt my jaw. Also hated the clips for attaching the headgear. Very poor design. Even with all the fiddling around, I still had leaks into my eyes, nose bridge soreness, jaw soreness and "face toots". I tried the F& P 432 with some success, but still stick with the Optilife plus taping.

Others have used the Ultra Mirage FF and Quatro with success.

Good luck...

Has he looked into the Ultra Mirage? I have one, and have not had any problem with the seal, I just prefer the Swift II nasal pillow.

that is the only mask he has used. He went back complaining that it leaked and they gave him the same size mask. He might get a smaller one today. If it doesnt work I'll buy him one. Thats why I'm trying to get info on the masks. He is frustrated from hearing face poots all nite and the air blowing in his eyes.

I called the dme at the VA hosp. and she got him a medium mask he says that it fits better. I'll have to check on it in a few days.

ComfortFull 2 mask

Post by Artreyman » Fri Jan 04, 2008 2:23 pm

This is a tricky mask..Ive had mine for over a year and it still leaks...I have a medium mask and wonder if i need a large one. I sometimes think that the pressure being put out is too high. But I dont know...I have found that messing with the straps and the forehead rest sometimes does the trick and I sleep all night with it...Im sure this doesnt help but heck I figured I'd comment on my CF2 Mask

Good luck...

Back in the middle of '06, I felt "deprived" (everybody else had multiple masks and I only had my UMFF) so, I decided to at least TRY another full face mask. The Comfortfull 2 was the one I decided to try. I managed to make it 3 nights with it before I gave up.....the lower part of the seal put too much pressure on my chin/lower gum line that just hurt too much.....and since my UMFF was SO much more comfortable, I just couldn't see being that masochistic.
