Hi All,
I have been on CPAP since October 07, since that time I seem to have a constant runny nose (clear) and my sinuses burn, (feels like when you pull pool water up your nose) When the sinuses start to burn, I have a round of sneezing that goes on for several minutes. What is this all about? I understand that the CPAP irritates the sinus cavities however, after 2 months shouldn't I be used to that? It is starting to really annoy me. Seems to happen the most during the day although has happened at night. HELP!

There are quite a few board members who use, and swear by, the Neti Pot nasal irrigation system. A warm, ph balanced saline solution is used to flush the sinuses.
You can do a search for neti pot on this forum and check out this thread: viewtopic.php?t=27158
I haven't used the neti pot, preferring another system, but I haven't been using that long enough to recommend it.
Good luck,
Susan

A humidifier would probably do you bunches of good. If you have one, then maybe try turning it up a notch or 2.

chronic runny nose, burning sinus and sneezing?
I have a remstar m series humidifer that I use religiously. It is turned up as high as I can get it. (5) even sometimes runs dry by the morning. Have house humidifier that runs through the furnace also.
Hmmm, in that case, it is probably time to check other things. Allergies? If the symptoms happen in a different place than your home, maybe something in the workplace?? I've never tried a neti pot, but some folks swear by them, so that may be another option.
One thing we all seem to agree on, don't go sticking stuff in your nose, especially if it's petroleum based. That can get real nasty in your lungs.
Maybe time for a visit to your local ENT?
Good luck!
