And you are going to change the firmware how? It on a Eprom probably, only changeable at the factory, may even be soldered into the main board. Jim

Yep, I use a Pro 2. The latest version for it is 2.8 released 12/12/06.

I work on medical equipment at a hospital, including the ventilators and BiPaps that our respiratory department utilizes. We are all Respironics in the respiratory department and thus I have access to all the necessary updates for their machines, this includes the CPAP's and BiPaps. I also have the necessary equipment to update these machines, and I can even reset the clocks. None of this has to be done at the factory, it just requires the right cabeling and software.

My M Series Bipap Auto is around a year old and the firmware release is 3.08. I think when Respironics started delivery of the M Series with A-flex, they boosted the firmware revision level to the 4.xx series. My understanding is that the firmware is the same between the M series bipap auto and the M series auto with a-flex.

Hi handgunner45 and All,

Understand from the last few messages that.....

1) the latest m-series auto aflex firmware is v.4.03 and
2) the latest m-series auto bipap auto firmware is v.4.03 as well

Q1) What is the "cabling" used for updating the firm ware?
Q2) What is the software name, version for the updating the firmware?
Q3) Have you tried to load the m-series auto with bipap auto firmware?
Q4) Do you have to set any jumpers after updating the firmware?

Q5) Any phisycal diffrences do you see in both the machines (externally and internally)?

Q6) Have you experience the m-series auto a-flex goes up to 30cm?

First you buy the company. Radio Shack can't order the cables. Jim

Hi Mate,

It cant be so complicated...just a cable and can self fabricate one for sure....be it in rs232 or utp or usb or event coax cables?
