We aren't suppose to have access to Encore Pro really. I doubt if any insurance company is therefore going to help with the reimbursement of it or the reader.

I am unsure about the Encore Viewer but if we have trouble getting data capable machines what makes you think they will pay for the software and reader?

After all it is only our treatment and its effectiveness that is important to no one but us. And an informed patient might question what the doctors and DME's tell us

I think EVERYONE should be able to get a data capable machine -- but that is just my opinion. If I hadn't found this forum I would never have known the difference between the bare bones machine and the data capable machines.

In the 2 1/2 years I've been on the forum, I've only seen a couple of folks claim that they got their insurance provider to reimburse them for it. The main problem with insurance reimbursement is that there's no insurance code for it (computer software).

Whatever it costs, it's worth it to be able to monitor one's therapy.

Could not get my insurance to pay for it. But, I convinced my FSA to reimburse me for both. I think the only way I got that done was the representative who I was dealing with had a family member who was on the hose and understood how important self-monitoring was to successful treatment. She actually appealed the initial denial by the FSA on her own. Otherwise, I was prepared to pay for that ability.
