I made the plunge and purchased Encore Viewer Software. I called Respironics and was told there was only one software. Not! The software consists of a program and drivers for the reader. It's simple to install, you can print your results. The card does not erase after reading but continues until full. This is definately NOT Encore Pro, but it does supply enough data for the home user to find out what is happening. One nice feature is the displayed charts are followed with an an understandable text explanation. My only gripe is that a very small program should not cost the same as the Pro Version.

You can erase and save the card data with a utility from mycpap.com. Yea it is a bit on the pricey side but they kinda got you over a barrel and knowing the data will be worth it in the long run. The only thing I dislike about it is that it does not work with James Skinner's Encore Pro Analyzer.
