c-pap protection

I went on a weekend retreat with a high-school group. This is the first traveling I have done since starting therapy.
I didn't like my equipment riding around with the rest of the luggage. The
case is nice, but not very protetive.
Does anybody have a hard shell case of any kind they use? I want to
find something that will become my full time carrying case. Metal or hard plastic.
I was told you couldn't use metal cases as airline carry-ons?
any info will be helpful.
And this was the first time I didn't have to sleep in the " snoring section"
I think I got the best sleep of anybody there.

I use the smallest wheeled carrier I can find. I check it in with my luggage and label it MEDICAL EQUIPMENT. This does not count for your luggage weight limit

It's been discussed before......some time ago. Somebody listed a link to some hard-sided cases, but if I remember correctly, they were pretty pricey.

It is recommended that your CPAP (medical equipment) NOT be checked in w/baggage but rather always be a "carry-on". I always when traveling, not only keep my CPAP w/me but also a small handbag w/the "necessities" should my luggage be lost and so I don't need to carry everything in to a motel if we arrive late or are only staying over the one night. That means clean underwear, PJs and toiletries. I can always wear the same outer clothes the next day if necessary.

It will be with me at all times, I have watched from airport terminals
as they load luggage on planes. Mine will fly with me. I wanted something
more protective.
The hose and the mask are made to fit in the front of the bag, and that
puts the fragile mask with almost no padding except the nylon of the
bag it self.
I'm going to shop around, if I find something I wiil let ya'll know.

My machine has travelled as carry on at least 50 times and there has never been a problem other than the weight of it when running thru a terminal to make a flight connection. A hard case would just add to the weight that you are carrying.

Presuming you mean the "rest of the luggage" in road vehicle, like a coach or SUV etc, then a PELICAN hard equipment case is probably the best solution. They come in a variety of sizes, some of which are well suited to transporting typical CPAP kit.

As far as air travel goes, don't even think of checking your CPAP kit. Carry it on with you... and the normal soft carry case will be fine for that.
