Software

Post by sharon309 » Fri Nov 09, 2007 7:50 pm

Is it good to have the software and if so where can you get it at?

I had the gel mask but was allergic and so today my DME brought a few different ones and I decided to try the Mirage Quattro.
When I put it on It felt pretty good and I felt ok being able to open my mouth,I have alot of trouble with alergies and stuffy nose.

Wish me luck I am going to try this tonight,I need some good rest.

Sharon, I'm glad to hear that you got another mask relatively quickly. I'm sure you know this, but make sure to soak anything new for 60 minutes in water and dishwashing detergent before you use it.

Pleasant dreams. . .

Hi Sharon,
That sounds much better.

It's very good to have the software in order to monitor your own therapy. Take a look at your machine to see if it is indeed the M series pro you put in your profile - if it is, it's' fully data capable and will give you important therapy information.

Yes, that's right. RG's post could have been written to you too...
rested gal wrote:You're a lucky guy, Mike! I'd have bet money that the machine they'd bring you would be an M series "Plus" (doesn't record full data.)

But they brought you a step upward machine...an M series Pro, lucky you! You've now got a cpap machine that is recording full overnight details, not just "compliance" (hours of use) onto the Smart Card.

If get the Encore Viewer software and the correct card reader, you can download the Smart Card yourself, to your own computer, and see what the data shows. Cheapest place to order the right card reader is here:

Here's a URL to info about the therapy setup menu in your machine. Handy if you ever want to look through the menu or...change anything:

You asked about C-Flex:

That makes sense. Are you using the heated humidifier? That may help with the sore throat - if it's not a cold you're coming down with. I hope that as your sleep gets better some of your pain will diminish too.

cpapauction (see the picture near the top of the screen) has got a couple of 1.6 up for auction. Those will work with your machine if you aren't running Vista on your computer

Are you sure, cflame1? Is it only the A- flex that 1.6 won't work on, or is it - as I thought - the whole M series?

You can by the Encore Viewer at cpap.com.

Seems to me that I read that it was just Aflex and Vista that 1.6 wouldn't work for.

O.....

I'm running 1.6 on XP with my "M" machine. As an added benefit, 1.6 is compatible with James Skinner's "Analyzer" software.

I have 1.8 in "reserve" so that I can shift to "Vista" when I have to leave XP.

If you have no plans to migrate towards "Vista" anytime soon, I'd suggest that you go for 1.6 so that you can use Skinner's "Analyzer" (a very important tool).

As far as I know, "Analyzer" won't work with 1.8 or the new consumer version of that software that has just become available.

It's MY understanding that James Skinner's EPA will work with 1.8.

They're gonna have to drag me kicking and screaming into MS Vista. From what I've been reading in the trade journals, MS has been meeting a lot of resistance to Vista (mostly from the business sector) and is backing off on pushing it.

For a number of other reasons, I have no plans to upgrade to EP 1.8 either.
