Ayr Gel in Australia

Post by blarg » Sat Nov 03, 2007 12:53 am

I know I know, I haven't been around much recently. I still lurk lots, just find I usually don't have to hop in to most threads because they've already been handled beautifully.

Anyway, I used Ayr gel religiously while I was living in the states. When I moved out here, I noticed that Ayr gel doesn't seem to exist. Well, sure enough, I found a very similar product called Fess Nasal Gel.

They specifically stress that it has no petroleum based oils. I find it actually smells quite a bit nicer than Ayr, and it seems to be a bit thinner in consistency while having more staying power because it has olive oil and Vitamin E in it.

I've been using Fess for about 3 months now and I find it seems to keep my nostrils even happier than Ayr used to.

I just thought I'd share what I've found.

Thanks for the tip, Blarg. I've been thinking of trying a nasal pillow mask again so the Fess could be handy.

So far, I haven't been successful in finding anything like Ace bandage in my area in Sydney. I was hoping to use it as a simple chin strap as people in the USA do, but this sort of self adhesive stuff doen't seem to exist here. Seems a definite gap in the market.

Cheers,

Thanks for the links Bill. I have found something on epharmacy that sounds similar, so will give it a try.

Regards,
Barbara.
