One of the common complaints about the product is that it's difficult to control how many drops are dispensed from the dropper cap bottle. How about trying this and letting me know if it works better for you:
The second question is whether I need to throw away all of the Product Guides I have already printed in order to print a revised guide with these instructions . . . . Any thoughts on that point would be appreciated.
I would appreciate any feedback on this particular point. To dispense the essential oils, simply place a pad on top of the bottle, holding the pad against the bottle with your finger, and quickly invert the bottle/pad. That should dispense about 1 drop. Test for desired strength. Repeat as necessary to dispense more essential oils.

I have a slightly different method that I used in dispensing the drop I used. I held the pad flat and tilted the bottle with the lip touching the pad and let a drop "slide" out of the bottle. It seemed well controlled and I only used one drop. As soon as the drop was dispensed I tilted the bottle upright. The scent was subtle yet was still potent enough that it was a very pleasant experience.
I have severe allergies and am allergic to most scents so was reluctant to purchase the basic set in case I was unable to use the Pur-Sleep products. I was so thrilled when you opened up the trial again so that I would have a chance to try your product to see if it stood up to my finicky nose and smell without setting off my asthma. I HAD NO PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER!!
I am unsure which scent I used last night but the one drop did a good job of relaxing me and was very pleasant to smell!! I always get up in the night and when I put the mask back on and my apap started I could still smell the subtle scent of the product!! Even this morning there was still a slight scent which I thought was pretty amazing!!
I thought the brochures were very well written and it explained thoroughly about the product. If I would change anything for the time being I would use the same brochure but just add a small note about your new idea about dispensing. Then when you get a new printing you can add the additional information.
The pads are great and there were three pads -- one for each scent so that makes it really convenient when applying the scent. For my first use, I didn't want to have to worry about washing the pad so I had some pantiliners and I cut about 3 inches off the end of one and used it for the scent pad and then threw the pad away this morning. This way I don't have to worry about the scents mingling with each other on the pads unless I want them to. Pantiliners are very inexpensive and have a waterproof backing so don't have to worry about a mess with the oil going through.
I liked the ceramic diffuser tray that came with the oils. It is classy looking and very practical. It is easily washable and fits nicely near the intake of the machine.
An overall great product. I will post more as I use the product more and if I come up with other thoughts.

2nd night of using Pur-Sleep
The first night I used Peace. It has a pleasant aroma and I enjoyed the scent and feelings of calm that it envoked. It seemed like I slept better and was more rested the next day.
Last night I used Clear and enjoyed that scent even more. I liked the crisp clean smell that was given off!! It conjured up pleasant dreams and I was able to sleep for 11 hours (I am still paying on my sleep debt). It has a nice minty smell that I really like.
Tonight I am trying the Spice and expect wonderful things from it as I love the citrus smell with a tinge of clove that make up the scent.
I have some small clear jewelers ziplock bags I purchased off from eBay for my jewelry that are about the right size to store the diffuser pads in. I had forgotten about these ziplock bags until I read your post. That is even better than my homemade pads as the scent should become infused into the pad and I would think would have a residule effect and so you should be able to cut down on the number of drops you use. Although I haven't tried this out.
I will keep you posted on my results.

Sleepycarol, you might have to change your handle once your sleep debt is paid.....sleepycarol wrote:That is even better than my homemade pads as the scent should become infused into the pad and I would think would have a residule effect and so you should be able to cut down on the number of drops you use. Your thought here is consistent with my experience, though it is also my experience that over time you'll probably become a little less sensitive to the aromas. They still do their job, however.

I used the spice last night and wouldn't you know it made me hungry for oranges!! It is wonderful as well!!
I am so glad that you offered these trials Sleepguy as I probably wouldn't have purchased any due to the allergy issue and by doing this I am assured that your product will fit into my therapy without adverse reactions.
Your product is very professionally done.

Feedback Request--
From the ongoing feedback on cpap.com, people either love the product or don't. For the people who don't like it, the most common complaint is that they just don't find the aromas to be pleasant. I'm looking for ideas to try to address that reaction.... The sense of smell is tied driectly to our emotional centers so there's really no arguing about what smell a person likes and what they don't like....
Just by way of example, the feedback ranges from this:

To this:My sleep disorder doctor recommended your website for a snuggle hose cover. While there I found the Pur-sleep aromatherapy starter kits. I decided to try it and ordered the deluxe kit. It comes with all nine scents and nine pads (one for each essential oil) and a diffuser. This way I can try all of them and find out which ones I like best to reorder when I run out. The first night I tried Peace (french lavendar essential oil) and I loved it! It caused my mind to stop thinking about anything other than the wonderful scent and I fell asleep quicker than I have in a very long time. I have used this scent for the past three nights and I have not only fallen asleep quickly and most enjoyably, but also have kept my mask on all night (7-8 hrs.)all three nights!!! I have been using my auto c-pap machine for four months and have previously only been abl to keep my mask on ffor one full night in the past. I will be going to a OSA support group meeting tomorrow and will be bringing the brochure I received with my order for Pur-sleep and will be recommending this to everyone to try. This is something I HIGHLY recommend everyone with a c-pap/bi-pap to try for themselves. You might just be surprised with the greatest nights sleep you have had in a long time!!!! The price is great for what you get. For me a great nights sleep is priceless!!!
I have been thru all 9 Aromas and find them either too heavy or just plain unpleasant! They are all very simular in smell but I don't think I would keep them up after useing them for a while.

I got mine Saturday. My diffuser arrived broken, but I quickly substituted a ceramic soap dish, I couldn't wait for it to be bed time!
I read the post about placing the pad on the bottle, then flipping the bottle over, so that was the method I used for dispensing. Saturday night I used Spice. I noticed when I put my drops on they were approximately the size of the top of the bottle. I used three drops and had a wonderful experience.
Sunday night I tried Clear. I used the same method of dispensing, however I noticed that the drops were the size of the hole in the plastic insert. I again used three drops as the night before it seemed to be perfect. Even though they were smaller "drops" the scent was way toooooo strong and I ended up having to put it in a plastic bag around 1 AM.
My question is which size drop is the appropriate size? The bigger one or smaller one? Also, does each scent has a different consistency?
Thank you so much for including me in this study. Tonight I will try Peace. This time I will start off with only 1 drop.

Laura, there is quite a bit of variability from oil to oil in terms of strength and persistence. There is also variability in the viscocity of each oil, so they won't all behave the same in terms of dispensing (though Clear and Spice are pretty close). Peppermint oil in particular is strong and persistent so I'm not surprised that you found it to be a stronger than the Spice. I suggest that you keep experimenting until you find what works best for you and report back....needels wrote:I got mine Saturday. i got mine on monday and LOVE it. My wife has BAD allergies and i and her were worried that it would agrevate her, but it doesn't at all as long as i get up before her and put the diffuser pad in its plastic bag before she gets moving (which i already do). I tried the clear first and loved it. Last night i tried the peace which was ok, but i am looking forward to the spice tonight. I will most certainly be ordering replacement and more scents. Thanks a ton for the trial. I am really enjoying it now.............with the new mask (hybrid) as well......
