CPAP AND Restless Leg ....etc...

Post by Justme » Fri Apr 22, 2005 4:26 pm

I have had my C/pap for a year now! I went through the testing but only recently saw a specialist. Well, I also have restless leg. I have started meds for that, and I am REALLY feeling better! Wow!

Now if it only took care of all my other issues....

JustMe,

I too have restless leg syndrome and am taking medication for it. I am also feeling much better. Sometimes the doctors get it right!

Glad you are feeling better.

Guest,

I take Neurontin about 2 hours before bedtime. Does the trick. Has also helped with riding in a car or sitting still for long periods of time. Legs don't ache and feel the need to stretch all the time now.

Justme: I've found that xPAP therapy allows one to sleep better, relaxes the body, and that 'state' then 'allows' the PLMD/RLS condition to rear it's head. You always had it, but now it's more noticeable; at least that's my experience. I have found that exercise, especially stretching of the legs and hips have all but eliminated my PLMD. I still talke clonazepam to assist me into a deep sleep. It is a controlled med, and one not to be taken lightly, due to withdrawal symptoms of depression. Try the stretching exercises and see how it goes.
