Taking my card in for reading and then to doc

Post by skits » Wed Oct 17, 2007 4:57 pm

Made my second appt. with sleep doc. Asked if I should bring in the card. They told me to take it to the DME, have them read it and bring what they print. DME told me they could read it in ten minutes and if I wanted would fax it to the doc. I'm really curious to see what it says. And then maybe understand more of what I read here. hehe Do you think they'll charge me for that service?

Off the subject a bit.. I've used the spell check every time I post and have yet to have a misspelling come up... does that thing work??

On the print out...I have no idea. New to this and my doc told me to bring the card to him.

Suzanne

BTW - just ran the spell check and guess what "Scanned 8 words. Found 0 words to be corrected" !! Wat a suprize!!

It seems to vary w/the DME supplier. My sheister DME supplier didn't charge me so I assumed they all did it for free. But I've since read posts where clients have been charged anywhere from $10 to, in one instance $35!!!! for a download of their data.

I have run across several that would read it card but would not let the patient see the data. The would mail or fax it to the Doctor only. Thats why I read my own! It's my data and I want to know how I am doing.

Card Read???

Post by vester1 » Thu Oct 18, 2007 11:38 am

I have had my Remstar Pro 2 w/cflex and humidifier for appx. 2 yrs. now. It has the card which I used for about 2months when I first got the machine. I had no way to read it and not really interested in buying a card reader set up. I don't have a Doctor to take the card to (the Doctor that set up the sleep study didn't really have a clue what he was doing all he really wanted to do was to do surgery). The prescription he gave me was directly from the sleep labs print out , he never had me return for any type consultation. I did my own research and ordered the equipment directly from cpap and paid cash.
I would like to find someone in the PHOENIX, ARIZONA area that I could take the card to and have it diagnosed for me. I tried two of the Doctor's listed on this site but they do not read cards. By chance is there anyone who happens to live in the Phoenix Az.have a Doctor that provides this service?? If so would you pm me with the name and Ph. # I would appreciate it.

I think mechanics should rotate tires for free, since it's so easy to do. <eye roll>

I think Discount Tire provided me with free lifetime tire rotation when I last bought my tires there ... and if we're not satisfied, they say we can bring them back and throw them through their store window for a full refund.

I think DME's should offer the same policy for their machines ... umm err but they may need to hire a full time window replacer guy

Oh fer crying out loud, cut me a freaking break!! If you expect me to be a bleeding heart for some sheister DME having to print out a 5-6 page download and provide it for free FERGGEDIT!!! Especially the sheister I had. They've been VERY WELL PAID, thank you. On top of the 13 month capped rental they also got a healthy $75 for a 2 week loaner. Its not like they had to do more than that ONE download.

And actually, I was being nice, because I EXPECTED to have to pay for the download. But my sleep lab, who could have done the download, was closed and I wanted to BE RID of that loaner autoPAP.

You wanted a rise outta me. You got it, fella. You got it. Now go crawl back in the hole you came from.

Hey, when I was running my mail route our local Discount Tire and I got to know each other real well!! And believe it or not, one day I stopped in and one of their big glass walls (2 big windows) were broken out. They were located right on a corner w/a stop light and, honest injun, a wheel broke off a car and spun and rolled right into Discount Tire's glass window wall!!!! The really ironic part was the drive WAS an older lady w/white hair!!! They guys were a LONG TIME living that one down! It made the local newspaper.

Giggle. Good one, Goose! Hit and run, not even guts to give an ID. But then vermin are like that. They crawl outta their hole, spread their sh*t and then disappear into their hole again.
