Warning on my mask tubing

Post by raybur » Sun Sep 30, 2007 9:07 am

Hi everyone,
I just won a nasal pillow from the CPAP auction. It has been working fine, but this morning I noticed a warning on the side of the tubing that said, "Not for home use". What would that mean? If it's meant for a sleep clinic only, why couldn't it be used for home use

I have bought some masks on ebay and they were marked on the box "not for home use" They are for sleep lab use only. They are marked this way so they can't be resold to the general public. Sleep labs get thier equipment at a substantialy reduced price and the companies do not want them reselling them for a profit. There is nothing wrong with using them at home at all.

Some sleep labs will sell their extra equipment on auction sites and sometimes unauthorized employees of sleep labs sell the equipment. Take it for what it is worth, but there is no problem with 'using" the equipment at all.

PapDaddy!!! I love your new avatar as much as I liked your previous!! That Bassett is obviously having a ball!!

Altho not windblown, these avatars remind me of a picture of my girlfriend's Basset w/two puppies from her first litter. The mother went on to become a Champion, and the two sons in the picture went on to become Champions as well, one of them going on to win more than one Best In Show All-Breeds. The BIS winner is leaning into his mother giving her a licking good kiss, whilst the other son is gazing up at her w/adoration. We have treasured that picture for years and my friend used it in a lot of her ads and on her stationary and pedigree forms. As I mentioned in another post when commmenting on your first avatar, that friend died a couple of years ago and I appreciate the warm memories of her and her dogs every time I encounter your posts and avatar.

It took me awhile to find this avatar, I wanted one of those "moving" avatars. My family and I have a basset hound named flash and he is quite a ham.(I could actually picture him driving a car) My 4 1/2 year old son says he is his best friend. He is a great addition to the family.

My husband had a marvelous American Rabbit Hound for years. They were inseparable and brought home many a rabbit for dinner.

"Bingo" would often stand on the front seat w/paws on the dash whilst riding down the road. My husband was guilty of more than once letting Bingo sit behind the wheel w/paws on the wheel whilst hubby sat in the middle of the seat so it looked like "Bingo" was driving!! It shocked more than a few people (at least it was always on rural side roads and NOT on the highway) but it sure wasn't any too smart on hubby's part as far as safety!!

Now that is funny! I would have loved to have seen that sight. A dog driving down the road and the owner sitting in the middle. I would of had one heck of a great belly laugh. Thanks for that image in my mind.

I actually saw a dog "driving a car" once. We were driving along on the highway, and I looked over, and a dog was in the drivers seat, and there were no people in the car. We were in the fast lane, and that car was in the slow lane, so we passed pretty quickly. I told the driver that he had to pull over and slow down, I told him what I saw and we both thought I was seeing things. Turns out that the car was being towed, and the dog was just sitting behind the wheel. I would never put a dog in a towed car like that, and shame on those people, but it was pretty funny, and I was convinced that I was seeing things.

That WOULD make you stop and take a double look!!! It had to have been for a good choking laugh once you figured things out.

Actually.... I saw a Golden Retriever driving a car on a TV program several years ago. NO JOKE. It was an old car.... like a model T... and the guy said that his dog actually drove pretty well.... he just had to keep an eye on him to make sure he didn't run off the road
