Clasic Comfort VS Comfort Gel - size question

Post by Jirel » Sun Sep 23, 2007 6:12 pm

Okay, so far the best mask for me has been the clasic comfort BUT I am having problems with it leaking around the eyes. I am trying to figure out if its the fact that it seems almost like its cheaply made and there for the Comfort Gel would be better or if the size is wrong. The reason I wonder about the size is that when the mask is on, the bottom is almost on my lips.

I've thought about trying the Comfort Gel, but I've wondered if the gel lining makes the entire mask larger or takes up interior size? If it takes up interior size I could stay with the medium size (determined from having a friend measure my face and using the online guide) but if the exterior size is any larger it will just not fit on my face.

When I'm away from the forum for a bit I usually view unanswered posts. I see that you didn't get a response and I own a Comfort Gel.

I think it's a bit of both. The gel lining takes up a bit more exterior and interior space. I have found that the small also was too long and touched my upper lip and poked into my eyes. I found the petite too small to leave sufficient space around my nose and actually closed my nasal passage.

If you have a short space between the bottom of your nose and upper lip, perhaps my favorite mask would work for you: Mirage Vista. There are not many who like it - so beware. You can read my review of the Mirage Vista at http://tinyurl.com/2pkwn3

I use both the ComfortClassic (small) and the ComfortGel (medium). I find that the ComfortGel medium sixing is comparable to the ComfortClassic small.

My comfort classic was too big and there was absolutely no way to make it stop leaking. So yes, try a smaller size. I am still waiting for my smaller comfort classic, but in the meantime have a size small comfort gel. It fits, but criminy, what a noisy thing. really, really loud.

With the classic, i was having the same problem you describe, little puffs of air escaping unless i remained absolutely flat on my back and didn't wiggle even an eyebrow Plus, if it was tight enough at the eyes, it was making my upper lip go numb from pressing against my teeth. Too big. Good luck! lynette
