I've been using the 7500 for over two weeks.....and I'm very pleased.

Before I ordered, I was concerned about the software.....and I considered purchasing more expensive software to go with it. But after contacting James Skinner and asking his advice, I decided to go with the basic SPO 7500 with standard software from SPO.

The SPO software is just fine. There's no need to purchase any more exotic software.

I purchased my unit from Turner Medical and paid about $479.00. The purchase was made by internet and went without any hitch.

My purpose in buying the 7500 was twofold. I wanted to check my O2 levels at night while hooked to the hose. My AHI has been generally running under 0.5, so I wanted to be sure my O2 levels were up where they're supposed to be.

My second purpose was to let my soul-mate check her O2 levels. She did (10) nights on the SPO 7500 and discovered that her levels were dropping to 71% in some instances. She's come to the realization that she probably has mild sleep apnea. She is about to carry her data to her MD and decide where to go from here. Without the data from the 7500, she wouldn't have a good idea of what is going on. I suspect that she'll use my spare machine with software and do her own sleep study.

Finally.....wearing the 7500 is about as comfortable as is possible. When I had my sleep study done, I was fitted with a cheap "clothes pin" type sensor clamped onto my finger. The "clothes pin" hurt all night......and that could have been avoided if the sleep study place had been really interested in doing good work.

After a couple of nights, the 7500 sensor is so comfortable that I don't even notice it anymore. I couldn't ask for better than that.

So......I can recommend the SPO 7500 as a good tool that I would purchase again.

PM me if you need more info.

Gerald

Ditto here.
Used it to get baseline data for me, to recheck every few months.
Also to convince son and husband to have sleep studies.

Good software - although I did have a problem with my computer not having an updated file (those are usually updated by the installation program according to my son). He had initially loaded the software on his computer, so knew that his file was up to date, copied it and transferred the updated file to my machine.

I communicated with SPO about the matter - very quick and helpful response by a real person.

I have been using SPO PulseOx 7500 for about a month to monitor my O2 level while on CPAP. It has performed well and I am happy with my purchase.

The only downside has been with the unit stopping during the night ... probably due to my hand movements. It does automatically restart and continues recording until I remove it.

Had a problem downloading data which SPO traced to a bad cable. They replaced the cable within a couple of days. Customer service has been polite, prompt and effective.

Vixsal......

You might try the "2-second" mode.

I tried the "1-second" mode and the 7500 seemed to run out of memory in the middle of the night.

I shifted to "2-second" mode and have had no more difficulty.

Evidently, we can tell the 7500 how often we want it to check our O2 level and it takes a whole bunch of memory if we tell it to check us every 1-second.

Also, I realized that care must be taken when plugging in (and un-plugging) the USB data transfer cable. One must remember to pull on the plug rather than the wire itself (when disconnecting).

Yes ... i have been using the 2 second interval

Also, always have been careful with cables and instert/remove using the plug not the wire ... this is a standard practice

Are any of you who have the 7500 able to use HyperTerm to capture a download from it? If so please email me a text file so I can try and support that unit with my software in addition to the Nellcor units I am supporting now.

I managed to break the On/Off button on my SPO 7500. As said earlier by others, SPO has been just GREAT and very responsive to any problems w/our SPO 7500's. They immediately sent me a new unit. They have replaced the taped on sensor w/a rubber finger cup sensor. They also provided new, updated software when they sent the new unit.

This finger cup sensor handles turning the SPO On and Off which is great! Reduces the need to use the On/Off button which you now use only to turn it to Connection mode when you want to set up a new study. But I haven't found the finger cup sensor to be quite as stable or secure as the taping sensor so the next time I use it I intend to tape the finger cup sensor to my finger in the hopes that will better stabilize it.

Right now I've loaned it to a friend who was recently released from the hospital after a serious bout of pneumonia and fluid around her heart. I haven't had a chance to talk to her about how she is doing w/it but she is way more 'puter savy than I so it should be interesting to see what she comes up with. She's still currently on home 02 but they expect to be able to remove the 02 tomorrow or Monday. For now she is just using my Nonin Onyx for spot checks when she is up and about around the house and hasn't tried an extended recording of her 02 stats.

The on/off switch on the first 7500's was apparently bad. Mine also went south after a few uses, and SPO promptly sent me the revised model, which is much better.
