Cpap filters online

Post by Guest » Mon Sep 17, 2007 9:04 am

I am looking for cpap filters online and notice there are several websites. I am not sure if there is a difference in quality or anything else important from one site to another. Also, I am not sure how critical a clean filter is to the performance of my cpap machine. Also, my machine is a Remstar. Any advice appreciated

I order my filters right here from our host cpap.com. Arrive in a few days and the customer service dept is extremely helpful!!

Ditto - though for a Puritan Bennett machine.

Clean filters are extremely important - you don't want dirt blown into the machine or your lungs, and you don't want the machine to work too hard on sucking in air through a clogged filter.

"M" series ultra fine filters are about 1/2 what they are at our host. Interesting.

I wish I had purchased the filters through CPAP.com. I purchased through the internet, through an ebay dealer. When received, the filters did not look quite like original filters, they were generic. I had been told they were for my CPAP but I had to cut them to fit. Live and learn!

Thanks about the eBay dealer as I was going to purchase some on eBay but think I will purchase online elsewhere!! I don't want the hassle of having to cut them.

Wow, What a price difference.

Question though, how is the quality compared to our host filters?

Who is the manufacturer of them?

Thanks guys.

Hmm. Guest comes along, asks a question, 6 hours later (!) he discovers that the only way he can post a link is by registering, and does so, telling us he purchased the filters without waiting for the answer, and that - 6 hours after asking us, he alread knows that "everything is great so far".

That makes me very suspicious of the guest, and of the site he represents. Because nobody can ask, order and assess the quaility of the service and the filter within less than 6 hours.

Not if they want to be truthfull, that is.

If anyone finds a link to the shipping fee on that site withing the next 3 hours, including info about how long shipping takes and what the options are- please post it - I couldn't find it.

O-

I haven't had a chance to check out the filter and compare to what I have. However, the order process went alrigth and confirmation and all. I am always a little weary of ordering from a different site for the first time. Never know what quality you'll get.

The main think i looked for was the picture compared to what I have and price. Shipping was a little under 5 bucks I think.

If anyone is interested, I can report back on ship time and quality of this filter.

I was with ozij on this.

Online sites can be a pain in the a$$. I checked that site out and a couple of others. CPAP Suppy and CPAP plus. I have a little inside info on the subject so I will share with you all. The O.E.M. or original equipment manufacturers ie, Respironics, Resmed, etc. do not cut the filters themselves, but have outside sources cut them. These outside sources sell them to the original equipment manufacturers and to after market filter sellers. The aftermarket people sell most of the market since the OEM's concnetrate on the machines, tubing and masks. These after market comapnies sell to the .commers, sleep labs and other distribution outlets. The filters are not knock-offs just packaged under a different name for the most part, but you have to be careful. Make sure the site you are going to offers replacement filters for your machine and references the OEM number of the gilter. I have a Respironics Remstar and I use ultrafine filters that are labled as 1005945 OEM number. If you buy "actual" respironics packaged filters - the .com sites have to buy from the Original Equipment manufacturers and will never get the best prices.

To wrap up - these filters are in most cases no different. I looked on cpapfiltersandsupplies.com website too and saw the OEm number, so they have to be the correct ones. Iam gonna order a couple and let everyone know.

Peace

How long can you use the standard filter at $2 EACH? They appear quite small for the resmed machine.
I was using inline filters with the larger area and opened one in the garage to try to replace the filter material. A search for replacement Hepa filter material did not locate a source but the hepa filter search found a number of very large filters for low prices. 8"X8"X6" in a metal housing for under $100. The filter surface area in these filters would provide years of service before requiring replacement on the input of a cpap machine. Another project to add to the list.

I wanted to report back on the order through cpapfiltersandsupplies.com . The filters shipped the day I ordered and received it 2 days later. Filters and everything look perfect - no bent or damaged. That site seems to be real competative on filter pricing and shipping. I am a satisfied customer so far.

Next time I think I'll probably order a larger quantity at that pricing that way I don't have to order so often and pay shipping over and over. Do it once and get it over with.

As far as a hepa filter material...no idea on that. Is that better? How is that different from what I ordered? Im not sure I understand what an inline filter is or why it has more area or why it lasts longer.
