my kids [humor]

Post by Splash51 » Sun Sep 09, 2007 3:27 pm

O,K. so its really hot here and Wife and I decided to go to the movies. When we got home I found an extension cord running out of the garage and around the back of the house. I figured Ibetter check it out because I knew the Kids were out back playing in the pool. There they were with thier Mom's 25 foot whole house vacuum hose some duct tape and my CPAP machine "snorkling" in the pool. Guess I should be glad they didn't go "deep sea" diving in the pond. Hmmmmmmmmmmm wonder if kids qualify forthe CPAP auction site .He He.

Holy Smokes! My child would be in big trouble for that little escapade.

While one part of me admires the creativity and ingenuity they showed, what if they dropped your machine, or it got pulled into the pool?

Something as important as my CPAP is to me is off limits to everyone else, period.

Good point but all my house elec. outlets have ground fault interupters and as I own a self serve carwash I learned a long time ago to keep spare parts on hand. Tough to find parts at 11:00 o'clock at night when it has to be running in the morning. So I picked up a "used" machine from a friend and now have a complete backup system including mask. But thanks for your concern. As far as the kids go I wont have to worry about mowing the lawn nor will my wife have to weed the garden for the rest of the season. May not even have to clean the driveway this winter. Idle hands are the devils playthings. HE HE.

KIDS!!! What one doesn't think of the next one does!! Sheesh! Old enough to be left home alone (or where was the baby sitter's head??) and they wanna experiment w/making their own spa? Isn't that what they call those "bubbling" bath tubs w/the jets?

Sounds like you and your wife came out the kids' latest caper smelling like a rose! No garden weeding, now lawn mowing and maybe no snow shoveling? Sounds like you intend to get your point across!!!

My mind is reeling... You KNOW I'm envisioning a far kinkier use for a nasal mask and a man with a long tongue, right?

Hey, think I can tempt the neighbors who have the slip and slide and cash in on this lawn mowing thing?

LOL,
B.

While I applaud the creativity and light-hearted acceptance of the kids, I cannot help but think of a former student. He has been seriously brain damaged and paralyzed. He was basically electrocuted while using a shop vac to remove water from the bottom of an above-ground pool.

The importance of safety and those GFCI outlets cannot be overrated. As my dad used to say, "One gets REALLY careful with the power tools after seeing a guy lose a finger." Somehow, that aphorism applies to the pool, water, electricity and injuries....

Still, what a hoot to walk up and find them using the machine in such a manner. Of course, had these been my children, I would have severely restricted a few activities following my (hopefully well concealed) mirth. But, one certainly must appreciate the supple flexibility of the creative mind.

I suddenly thought that a picture would have been great. However, on second thought, the description allows our own supple and flexible creative minds to envision a really entertaining scene. Thanks for sharing.
