Remstar pro CPAP question

Post by hockeydad » Wed Apr 13, 2005 7:09 am

Hi all,
Noticed something odd with my machine, not sure if I have a problem or not. Just for background, have had my Remstart Pro CPAP w/ C-flex for about a year, but only really started using it again in the last week. Got my new Ultra Mirage FF mask last Thursday, switched from the ComfortGel on the advice of this group.
Anyway, I noticed yesterday morning that the hour meter on the LCD screen didn't seem to be going up as much as I thought it should, but wasn't sure. So last night I made sure I looked at it, it read 116.4 hours before I went to bed. Went to sleep at 11:00, woke up at 7:00am, wore the mask all night, but the hour meter only read 118.1. I know I slept more than 1.7 hours, so what's the deal?
Also, in the bottom right corner of the LCD screen, there is a small icon that says "CARD". To tell you the truth, not sure if this was always on or not, never really paid attention to it before, but I don't remember is being there.
Do I have a problem with my machine?

Remstar pro CPAP question

Hey Hockeydad:
First off, the word 'card' on your Pro display screen means that a Smart Card is in place. It is the size of a credit card and inserted on the same side as the hose port, towards the back of the machine.

The fact that your machine is not recording hours correctly COULD be an indicator the main PCA board is having an issue. Is the machine rented or did you purchase it? manufacturer warranty is 2 years on CPAP machines so you should be within that range.
Contact the source of your machine to have it assessed. Tell them what you have discovered about the CPAP. IF it needs to be repaired, only a distributor can return it to Respironics.

Good luck and good detective work!
Sleep Well.
