How is everyone's weather?

Post by LilBuckaroo » Wed Aug 22, 2007 7:51 pm

We are seriously H-O-T here in Montgomery, AL. We have had 100+ for the entire month of August. Heat indices have been in the 103 range or higher.
Not much fun!!!

And now for the rain. We haven't had anything to speak of since July. If anyone has some that they would like to send this way, please do.

Howdy neighbor!

I'm just outside Nashville, TN and we're about to melt from the heat! We've also had record breaking temperature and little to no rain. Many communities are on strict water restriction due to drought.

We've got 30+ year old air units in our house and when the outside temp gets above 95, they can't cool us down below 80. I guess it's about time to find some replacements!

Up in CT, we've had just the opposite. The past few days have been in high 60s to low 70s and cloudy. Feeling like we're getting cheated out of the last couple of summer weeks. Supposed to get nicer for the weekend, though.

You can have my rain!!!!! As I write it's thundering and lightening big time!!! We've had so much rain and flash floods in the area in the last week or so. Doesn't help the heat index either. At least it's not 100+ - only in the upper 80's but man - to open that door! Takes the breath away Many of my neighbors have had their apartments/basements flood.

Doesn't help that my upstairs neighbor flooded my apartment for the 3rd time since I've moved here on Friday night! He has 3 special needs kids (and one "normal" one) and one of his kids decided to wash his hands and leave the water on. When I walked in at 11:30 Friday nite there was literally water pouring from the light fixture in my bathroom and an inch of water standing on the floor. The bedroom carpet, hall carpet, and kid's bathroom (which backs up to mine) was soaked too!!! The maintenance people didn't come until Monday to clean the carpets (by which time the carpets were mostly dry) and they added more humidity! Thankfully the carpets are dry now and will hopefully stay that way! I also made them check the walls for mold since this is the 3rd time! Hopefully this neighbor's lease won't be renewed and I'll get some older couple with NO KIDS

My kids are in San Francisco with their father until Saturday and I'm told it's major hot there too!

Today it was 105 but this is much better than the 118 we had a few weeks ago. I live in High Desert (Mojave Desert). Humidity is in the single digits. I haven't seen rain in a year

I'd send you my rain if I could! Normally August in Paris is sunny and sweltering... this year it's been cold and rainy.

I guess I should stop saying "normally" because where weather is concerned, "normal" doesn't seem to exist anymore.

I think we’ve been cheated out right from the start. Meaning they definitely picked wrong place for capital of the world. Here in tri state area we basically have one month of really peaceful weather – month of September. The rest – you are either sweating or you are shaking, nothing in between.

We've got flooding in all the states around us... and in the northern part of the state of Iowa. They're saying that if we get more rain today it'll flood here too.

Yep - the forcast for the next 3 days is more and more thunderstorms
Thankfully the retention pond backing up to my patio is quite deep. It would probably take a month of severe thunderstorms to start lapping at my back door. But earlier this summer I was complaining about how nasty the thing looked cause it was maybe an inch deep and just a puddle of muck. Now you could probably swim in it! At least the ducks and blue herons have come back to grace us. Now if I could only keep those noisy poopy geese away

The sun will come out on Sunday (how appropriate is that???)
