I visited my doctor today and while my survey(improving from a 6 to a 4) got better and my BP is lower (118/78 ), I still don't feel that much improved from where I was without CPAP. My OSA is mild with only 11 per hour during my study. I DO generally feel better, but am not sure if it's from CPAP or from me losing about 28 more lbs since my study (total lost is 70 lbs since February).
I have tried and tried and TRIED to get used to my Swift II with a chinstrap but it ain't happening. I have the strap so tight that it digs into my chin and I still open the mouth at night. Because of that, we're going to add the mouth to the mix as I am a mouth breather. I am glad I opened my mouth as I immediately asked if they carried the ResMed Liberty mask. She wrote up the order and possibly by Monday I will have a liberty. I am excited to try this as I don't think I would use a full face with my nose being covered. Crossing my fingers that this improves my survey and increase the benefits of CPAP because I surly don't feel it like some do.
I can't imagine how some people around me who are on CPAP get that miracle feeling with tons of energy compared to life before CPAP. I know everyone's different, but I honestly don't really feel too much of the benefit yet, but I do know I feel worse with out it so I am keeping it up. I hope after losing even more weight I can shake the hose entirely.

The Liberty will take some getting use to and trial and error on nasal sizing, but stay with it. Your nasal might get a little sore at first but that will go away in about a week or so. I have had mine about a month and most of the time, have no problem with it leaking at the nasal pillows; however, I found a rubber band loosely fitted around the pillows, sure helps stabilize the pillows into the nasal cavities. Let us know how you come out.

See the Quattro warning and purchase the insurance on the Liberty.
I found the Hybrid to be far more comfortable.
The trampoline pillows press very hard against the nose. You will absolutely have a sore nose in the morning.
No so with the Hybrid. The Hybrid pillows are about the softest in the market and are a dream.

I can't imagine it would be too much different then my Swift II except being full face.

I have the opposite problem with the Liberty - I find the pillows to be much flimsier on the Liberty than on the Hybrid, and much prefer the firmness of the Hybrid pillows because they stay in place. I also have to wear the Liberty higher (off center) on my mouth to keep the pillows from falling out. Doing it that way keeps the Liberty pretty stable and my leak rate isn't too bad, but the pillows are still the weak part. It's too bad because I really like the quick disconnect elbow on the Liberty and prefer the headgear on it to the Hybrid (granted I have the original Hybrid headgear). But when push comes to shove, I get better therapy from the Hybrid.
