locked or unlocked on humidifier?

Post by cpsleeper » Wed Aug 15, 2007 1:22 pm

I couldn't find the meanings of "locked and unlocked" for my humidifier. I am using a Respironics Bipap M Series Auto with Heated humidifier machine. On the water chamber, it has a little latch for keeping it locked or unlocked. What does this mean? Do I ever need to unlock it??

Thanks,

You unlock it to take the top off if you need to clean it. Many think it doesn't need to be cleaned if you use distilled water. Just rince it out once in a while. Opening it up to clean does seem to be a dangerious thing because if you don't get it back together just right it will leak and leave puddles under the machine which also ruins thge top of the dresser or what ever it is sitting on.
