I have now been on CPAP for about a month. I originally had a (what I found to be a discontinued) large, heavy CPAP with a separate cool humidifier that also seemed clunky. Based on the info I got from this group, I call the DME supplier and complained and they brought me a great little light 420G with a heated humidifier that is almost integrated. I travel a lot, and this one... I can take it with me!
I was also having problems with the masks I had; the Comfort Gel and F & P. The bridge of my nose looked a little like sausage meat. Now I have the Swift and I love it!!!!!
I am sleeping well (I think). I don't get up in the middle of the night, although I might wake up, roll over and fall right back to sleep. I understand "normal" people do that too. I am also MUCH more alert and focused, no longer nodding off at work, at home, in the theater, etc.
I have been browsing a lot of topics here, and it seems like most everyone takes an active role in the control of their sleep. Knowing how many events they have every night, changing settings on the fly, changing machines on a regular basis, etc.
I guess my question is, am I doing things the right way? How do you know how many events you are having? I don't see that info on my machine. Am I OK in just filling up my humidifier, donning the Swift and falling to sleep, or should I be doing more????
Wow, that turned into a LONG post!
