Hi,
I am posting a new thread because you probably wouldn't look at the one I posted earlier under Interpreting Encore Pro data.
From your postings, you talked me into calling "my" doctor. I called the doctor whose name was on my sleep test report and from whom I received a letter saying they would call me for an appointment. I was told he has no openings. I asked about September or October, and she said no.
I called my pulmonologist who I had seen for sarcoidosis, but I hadn't seen him since 2002 so they considered me a new patient and I would have to have a referral from my primary care doctor (PCP). If my PCP called him, I would not be able to see him until September.
There is another pulmonologist in his office who has been there 2 years and reads sleep tests, and I could get in August 24 depending on whether my PCP called them before someone else called. My PCP happens to be in another town today so I won't hear from him until tomorrow.
So much for doctors, and I work for some doctors (Ob/Gyn) at a medical college. Bah Humbug!

Well......."in theory" it would be a good idea. (especially with your "numbers" looking like that)
Reality? Like Snoredog and I mentioned.....a setting of 9 cm. looks the best right now.
I'd suggest setting it in CPAP mode at a pressure of 9.....a minimum Ramp time for about as long as it takes you to get to sleep (or even disregard the Ramp time if you don't need it).....a C-Flex setting of whatever is comfortable (I like 2)......and then see what your numbers look like.

Thank you Wulfman. I'll give that a try.
It might work out for the best that I can't see the doctor who wrote the report. The doctor I'm trying to see on August 24 has his own sleep lab in a neighboring town and deals with Sarcoidosis, which is what I had before. Also, I saw his name in an article about emphysema, which my husband had.
They say things work out for the best. Thanks for encouraging me to see a doctor, and I will try the 9 as you suggested.
I'm sorry I'm slow in responding. I am a secretary/administrative assistant, and when my boss wants something I have to do it immediately.
I really appreciate your support.

Good plan!
I know from experience how hard it can be to manage doctors. Right now, I am supporting a PCP and four specialists! (Opthomologist, Endocronologist, Immunologist, Pulmonologist) and have seen a cardiologist, a ENT specialst and a podiatrist! I think I spend a good portion of every summer and Christmas break going to and from dr. appointments to keep the amount of work time I miss to a minima. This summer I had the whole SA thing, plus two different sets of labs for endocrine related functions! I need to see the immunologist esp. since the new SA diagnosis but she has switched affiliation and I haven't gotten it scheduled. Looks like I'll get to miss some school time for this one . Thankfully, I have plenty of sick and annual days built up... a rare perk of working for the state of South Carolina!

During my first visit to the sleep lab when I met my doctor, he made sure to give me a card that had his email address on it.
Obviously, I've made very good use of it.
The last time I was at the sleep lab, I noticed the little card holder thing by the receptionist window was empty.
Hmm. I wonder if I had something to do with that?
