Trying to deconstruct the Aura....help!

Post by lummusc » Wed Aug 08, 2007 1:31 pm

I am trying to deconstruct my new Aura. I am trying to do as ozji suggests by just loosening the hose from the rigid plastic with my fingers, but it is not budging.....has anyone tried this lately? I am wondering if they've attached it more securely on the newer ones? I was hoping not to have to cut through it with a hacksaw!!!

It is hard to disconnect, it fits very tight. Suggest you try running some hot water over it. Someone used a butter knife to get it started going down. Once you get it started, just work it off gently. I know it comes off, it happened to me one night and I was asleep!
Sleep is the interest we have to pay on the capital which is called in at death; and the higher the rate of interest and the more regularly it is paid, the further the date of redemption is postponed.

I used a coping saw. The tiny blade detaches from the saw and easily fits in the area available so you can cut the plastic piece and then do the same on the other side.

The hose does come off if you are persistent. I thought it wouldn't at first. You can remove it to replace it with the hose from a Breeze which is cheaper than replacing the whole mask if the hose breaks. It is a flimsy hose, so you may want to get a replacement before you crank on it too hard.

Good luck. It is a very comfortable mask once you become accustomed to the sound of breathing.
