Last night I posted my personal best cpap scores in the 14 months I've been on the hose. I had zero apneas and .09 hypopneas/hr. The zero apneas is not all that unusual, but the .9 for the HI is. I normally average an AHI of between 2.8 and 3.5, nearly all of it hypopneas; so an HI of under 1 was a real surprise.
The problem is that I did nothing different last night. Of course, the couple of nights I had AHI's of 5 and 5.2 I did nothing different, either. Ah, well...
As long as the numbers are under 5, I'm a happy pap'er

Congrats!
I never got a zero AHI with a ResMed, only until a few months after I changed over to the Respironics machines and tightened up my APAP range (I get a zero AHI about 3 times a week now). I guess Respironics machines are less sensitive to hypopneas ... I almost always got zero apneas on both ResMed and Respironics machines.
But I cannot tell much difference in the way I feel between AHI of zero and AHI of 3 or 4.

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.
Really??? Even if an AhI of 3 or 4 is considered acceptable? I've NEVER had an AHI of 0 yet. My lowest is .5, but my average is between 2 and 3. Most of that comes from HI; I hardly ever have any AI.DreamStalker wrote:But I cannot tell much difference in the way I feel between AHI of zero and AHI of 3 or 4.
I didn't feel any difference between those days where I had .5 or higher. I've felt tons better since starting therapy, but I feel I could improve. I just thought with that would come with continued therapy.
I thought I had the MACKDADDY of machines since so many people are having a hard time getting their insurance to pay for an APAP. I have a Resmed machine, so I am interested in hearing more.

Congratulations Bookbear,
I have not long ago clocked up 2000 hrs on my S8 Auto and it seemed like the best I could get was around 2.0 AHI. This was with either my Activa or Opus, no leaks and sleeping well but still wondering if I could iron out a few more of those Hyponeas. I sort of figured in the finish a lot of these were scored from my trying to swallow and clear my "narrow throat" (as my Doc puts it) from mucus and nasal drip. This is difficult to do when your mouth is glued shut. A Pharmacy in town has taken on supply of CPAP equipment and I had the opportunity a month ago to hire and try a Liberty mask. Nearly threw it out the first night. Climbed back on the second night and bingo, my AHI since then has averaged 1.2 with virtually no AI even with a head cold and to top it off 2 weeks ago I got up and found the AHI 0.0. As others say, didn't feel any different other than a feeling of pleasure. Have had quite a few other nights of 0.4 and 0.8 which I feel is as good as zeros on the S8. The big thing for me, I think, has been the ability to clear my throat easily. The Liberty has been a bit tougher on the nose and upper lip area but I am getting use to that now and sleeping really well.
All the best,
Archie
