Most Masks Crown and Award

Post by gasp » Wed Jul 25, 2007 12:49 pm

First of all, Organplayer, sorry for getting so off topic (OT) in your thread. I posted this post there and then said to myself "what am I thinking, I don't even know what the thread was about!" So, I'm starting a new thread (patting self on back).

Slinky, hope you don't mind getting the award in a new thread : )

ON WITH THE POST:
I was giving Babette a hard time about vying for queen of who has the most masks. Turns out I had, I think, one more than her. Slinky so ably corrected who had the most masks, with a surprising inventory of masks.
slinky wrote:I Whoa! Not so fast w/that Crown and that Plaque!!!

I have the 1] Swift and the 2]ComfortLite 2 from my lousy CPAP DME supplier.

And then I have the 3] HC 407 Flex-Fit, 4] Aclaim2, 5] ComfortGel and 6] and 7] two Simplicitys, thanks to my 02 DME supplier.

Man, I didn't think I'd gone thru that many masks!!! But you guys go ahead and try another one to beat me outta the tie 'cause on accountta I doubt I'll try anymore given how well I like the Simplicity. Altho I have toyed w/the idea of trying to find a FF mask - just in case. Yech, NOT impressed w/the thought even!
So, Slinky, here is your crown, which is intended as a unisex crown, and plaque (bowing and clapping).

I have you both beat ...

Swift (sold along w/ S8 Vantage)
Breeze
ComfortLite 2
OptiLife (sold recently)
Opus
Hybrid
Adam Circuit (given away last year)
Acclaim 2 (first one I ever sold)
F&P 432 (gone w/ S8 Vantage sale)
Ultra Mirage FF (traded in for F&P 432)
F&P 431 (tried a fitting but not actually used it … so does not count)

... so I'm back down to 4 for now but there are a few more out there I want to try

I bow to your "Mask-ness", DreamStalker. *sigh* Gasp found such a pretty crown for us too. *sob* I really liked it. (And it would look better on me than you too!)

Betchya, RestedGal could beatchya tho if she opted to post all the masks she's tried and discarded plus those she liked and kept around awhile.

masks

Post by Catnapper » Wed Jul 25, 2007 4:57 pm

By the way, all my masks are owned, not traded. I managed to get 2 from the insurance. I still have all of them except as noted. I had to get a bigger space to keep them all. Somehow I don't want to part with them, just in case.

NOT my Simplicitys. No way! They work for me.

The 407 has been used by a smoker.

I've been on cpap for a little over 2 months and have tried 6 masks:

1. Optilife nasal pillows
2. Comfortgel nasal mask
3. Comfortful full face mask
4. Bravo nasal pillows
5. Ultramirage full face mask
6. Liberty nasal pillows with mouth mask

That makes for a MMI (monthly mask index) of 3 heh heh....

Nothing cures insomnia like the realization that it's time to get up!

I don't think I really qualify to be in the running, since I managed a sleep lab and now work for a DME as an RT. But in the intrest of this thread I sent my daughter off on a search for all of my CPAP masks. I had to pay her $.50 a mask to do it, so my wife wasn't too happy when she came back after about 45 minutes and said, "Dad you owe me $26!". All I could say when my wife glared at me was, "Well your lucky she didn't find ALL of them!" LOL

So she found 52 masks, there are a few duplicates in there, but not many. I get demos from all of the manufacturers when they come out with new mask and take them home and wear them for a good 2-3 weeks, so that I can give my patients a first hand opinion about the masks.

Like i said, I don't really qualify, but it the look on my wife's face was priceless!!

Thanks Gasp!!!!
